    Donald Curry.

Curry looked like a future legend on his way up and was widely regarded as p4p number 1 going into the Honeyghan fight.

Full credit to Honeyghan, of course, great performance, but he really wasn’t that special and few, if anyone, gave him a chance against Curry.

After being battered and stopped by Honeyghan, everyone said it was a weight issue, however when Curry went up in weight he was stopped another three or four times by every world class boxer he fought.

Curry still had a decent career, but it was much less than his talent and potential had seemed to suggest.

Yuriorkis Gamboa. Olympic gold medallist and a fantastic talent. Became the most feared boxer in 126 lbs division. But later dropped into mediocrity after lavish lifestyle, domestic violence and numerous of problems.

That is a good choice. He looked like he would be special for along time.

Curry did pretty much fall a part after the Honeyghan fight as far as his performance level. I always felt Curry burned out mentally and physically. The guy had over 300 amateur fights. That in its self can take a lot out of man. Looks at it this way, they guy had been on a diet for 20 years without a break.

Dustin "the worm" Nichols. He destroyed Wilder in one of the most one sided rounds in boxing history, and then his appetite faded and he lost every fight since until his pheonix like renaissance this year.

Tyson had been champ for over 3 years before his first loss. The hell you talking about?

Just recently talked to a pro who pretty much retired after his first loss. Dude had over 100 amateur matches, competed internationally but it all wore him down.
Only reason he turned pro was because he got burned out by the amateur scene. When he finally lost he realized he was burnt out. Too many injuries, too much hard work.

His first fight back was a massive PPV hit. As were all of his preceding fights.
Tyson finally hit rock bottom in his late 30s.

    one of my favorites

    Edison miranda

top middleweight contender got screwed vs abraham and then kept knocking guys out. was one fight from taylor who I thought he could ko but ran into a monster in pavlik

he never really regained what he lost despite getting a few more good wins
