nah.. he is aggressive and that takes guys out of their rhythm. Juan Roldan was that way also and gave Hagler and Hearns and Nunn tough fights. The awkward aggressive guys can do that, but that does not make them underrated just awkward. Maidana is not a great fighter at all or even Hall of Fame.

Who is a great fighter? Maidana? No way. Let's be honest here. He is a very aggressive fighter like I just said and takes guys out of their rhythm and timing, but that is not what a great fighter is. Roldan was a great fighter? Maidana was a very good fighter who was aggressive. Not yet Hall of Fame to me.

Floyd saved himself from a KO loss in both fights. Can you imagine if he had been allowed to wear his preferred (puncher's) gloves? Instead, he took the 1.5 million from Floyd and had to batter him with pillows.

Roldan was messy, Nunn fought up close against him and was far easier to tag than Floyd was v Maidana, Hearns v Roldan was just a brawl, Hagler performed the best v Roldan but was more aggressive than Floyd which is a difficult way to fight a guy like Roldan, B-Hop would have toyed with Roldan.

Maidana was more skilled than Roldan.

Beating over rated AB and losing close ones to 90 year old Floyd doenst really make him anything more than he already is.

    A solid B level opponent.

Maidana is pretty much an aggresive guy who takes guys out of their rhythm. Barkley was that way a little if you want to talk, aggressive yet not "messy". I think Hopkins would have beaten Roldan, but I am not sure he would have toyed with him. Hopkins handpicked like Floyd did, and wanted to win the fights before the fights happened. Roldan could get guys out of their rhythm. We saw what happened when someone was rough with Hopkins, he ended up crashing down from the ring, and against Dawson in the first fight he seemed to fold under a little pressure. He liked things his way.

Roldan was a harder puncher. And the guy Hearns said was the toughest guy he ever fought. Which is odd since he mentions the guy he beat not the ones who beat him, but that is what he said. I don't see Maidana as very skilled. And he certainly at this point will not be a half of fame fighter. If he comes back and gets a win against a few top fighters maybe.

Hagler was tougher than Roldan because he took Tommy`s punches better and Hearns was far better in `85 than in `87, after the Shuler fighter his career was very patchy indeed.

Hopkins injured his shoulder against Dawson and Calzaghe was a better high volume puncher than Roldan but couldn`t land much on B-Hop, Barkley would have been dealt with by B-Hop the same way Toney dealt with him Maidana fought better against the shoulder roll style than Barkley could. Maidana would never have been beat by a scrappy fighter like Benn the way Barkley was he was wide open in theat messy bout. (P4P)

He got thoroughly outclassed by Devon Alexander, a guy that seemed troubled vs pressure fighters, yet for some reason won against Maidaina on auto pilot.

He beat up Broner but in hindsight Broner turned out to be a dud.

Nearly got KO'd vs Khan in the very first round. Got up and gave Khan a great fight but somehow couldn't get Khan out of there even though he had Khan on silly street.

Put it on Floyd which was probably why anyone would consider him under rated. Floyd was a slow starter and Maidana used that to try and overwhelm Floyd. I mean, even Hatton, who is somewhat smaller than Maidana, managed to hang with Floyd for the first 3 or 4 rounds.

    Not under rated.
