Headlining a Matchroom card a week from Saturday @ Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, NY. Airing live on Cable Onda Sport in Panam, and some app. WBA light heavyweight title on the line, 5th defense of Bivol.

The undefeated champion is ten months younger than his challenger. Smith has fought in eleven more professional contests, but eight fewer professional rounds than Bivol, a consequence of having scored more early knockouts. They have stopped a combined 31 of 41 opponents.

And they both have been dubbed "The Beast" (self-affixed in Joe's case). 175lb ain't big enough for two men w/ that nickname. :deal:

The Long Island Bomber blows Bivol out of the ring like B-Hop and KO's him 4. Unless Bivol breaks his jaw early, this will be the most grueling fight of Dmitry's career. Stylistically Joe, as straight forward as he may be, will be more of an issue than more skilled fighters. He has a decent high guard defense, brings non stop pressure and is great at penetrating his opponents guards and landing his bombs, and he doesn't need to load up to hurt his opponents. At the very least he drops and hurts Bivol once or twice en route to losing a UD.

Eh, you just hate rugged face first Northeastern Light Heavyweights.:deal: And one Northeastern Canadian Middleweight.:sisi1

Joe didn't beat destroy Fonfara and BHop all based on luck, Sully Bear is damn lucky he broke his jaw in the second, otherwise, Bivol would have been facing a Barrera with 2 L's.

Joe has the,,punchers chance,, which in general means he'll be outboxed and lose a wide UD.

I can see an upset happening here. A rough determined heavy-handed slugger like Smith should be all wrong for Bivol.
If Smith stops Bivol, I expect Dmitry to declare about him moving down to the SMW almost the next day.

What's so ****ing funny? Smith has lost twice, both times due to a broken jaw. You have to be naive or dumb to think he doesn't have a chance.

Joe Smith is a caveman son, all power and little pugilistic pedigree. Bivol only has to fear his power, but power without execution is meaningless.

Hopkins was coming off a long layoff mi hijo, and was ancient. The Hopkins that Kovalev shut out, beats Joe Smith by a comfortable decision :deal:
