At 135 or 140? At 147 Chavez gets treated bad. Nobody on earth stops Julio at 130/135/140. Nobody. Not even close.

Poor JCC...if only he was as good as De Jesus he might stand a chance. Not only does he not stand a chance, I am hearing it unlikely that he will have a life afterwards. I am not sure if this is just silly hyperbole or serious thought? I am sorry to hear that he will join all of the other paraplegics and deceased who deigned to enter the ring with the deadly assault machine that is Roberto Duran

Ohhh is this how Duranian mathematics works? Let me try

    Leonard > Duran

    Leonard 2-1 Duran?

    Something like that?

A hometown friend ,,Frankie "THE SURGEON Randall told us he always wanted to fight Chavez. He said the guy is very beatable. I thought yeah there's some bluster there, then they fought. Frankie whipped his azz both times and was robbed the second. Chavez had had enough and he quit and went to the fixed scorecards. If you watch the first fight in virtually every infighting clash they had, Chavez was the one who backed out of it. He said Julio wasn't that strong.
Duran is very strong, and one of the greatest infighters who ever lived. To bad Julio didn't take up Durans offer to fight at 154 when Duran was ancient.

By the end of 1990 Chavez was a drunk and a coke head. He was already a superstar and not hungry anymore. Randall is a steroid cheat. JCC tried showing up to fights knowing he was the A side. That **** costs him against the guys with the hunger to be great.

Good stuff right here. Good breakdown.

Although JCC is revered in my ancestral home, I must give it to Duran. His insane workrate would get to JCC. I think that may be another factor. Did JCC ever fight a fighter with good workrate, sublime defense and great inside fighting skills?

Fantasy fights are taken with both at their best tho. I'm not one for the multiple automatic excuses Duran gets but there's no doubt he wasn't at his best in their initial bout. De Jesus would be no walkover for Chavez as good as he is.
