I just watched the first round of DeGale v Eubank and Chris was still missing by miles with his right hand and not able to get inside by using a jab, until he develops a jab he won`t be a threat in any weight class, do most fans think he`s improved since the Groves fight? I will update this thread as I watch more of this fight.
hes still chris, its just degale is do bloomin awful now, he is actually shot, in the real sense. Pawing out a jab was his only meaningful weapon.
Yes he did, Degale was all over the shop trying to be tricky but was completely uneffective, kept leaping in with straight lead lefts rofl and switching with lead right hands, he had no jab none, Eubank who can be elusive when he needs to be, didnt even need to bob or weave thats how bad and scared Degale fought once he was dropped. Eubank kept a nice guard and was more patient and as usual fit and strong, but nothing completely different to how he usually fights.
No but it sounded like a shut out and the way he missed right hands was by a long way, he shouldn`t have been whinging shots like that in the first round but I respect what you`re saying I will be watching more, I just really dislike the way Eubank is overrated and got over eager creating a thread, sorry.
Eubank is a threat due to his Durability, handspeed and Stamina. But when he fights the real kings of SMW he will get beaten again. He would lose to Saunders, Plant, Ramirez by decision and KO'd by smith. Hes a top 5 SMW already imo. Smw isnt what it was a few years back.
eubank doesnt represent smw scene, never has. What made you think he does, hes brit champ max, the brit smw scene.
It should be as easy as punch to knock someone out who keeps on leaping in with a telegraphed left hand, then falling in, and looking to hold. The fact EubankJr couldnt stop him, shows the level he is really at. Yes he looked slightly better, but thats because that version of De Gale is easy pickings. De Gale was only 50% of the fighter in there who fought in his prime.
His jab to the body with his legs wide open might be the funniest punch in boxing. He becomes a cartoon.
hold on tostig, did you mean top five brit smw, thats ok with me. if you meant top five world then I still disagree COMPLETELY. sorry if there was confusion caused there. I think even Truax is better, as well of course everyone in the top ten is. I have this odd suspicion theres something medically wrong with Chunky, so fast has been his slide this year. Hes gone from sub world to sub british.
Alright, I think chunky was partying too hard the last couple of years and did take a battering from Jack.
Jnr just isn't a very good boxer and never will be. The one difference in the fight is that he had a game plan which Vasquez had clearly set out and to be fair he stuck to it - wait for Degale to come and then counter. Other than that it was the usual domestic /euro level Chris. He's not world level and never will be.
