Yeah really sucks for Amir to be basically a scapegoat for guys like Efe.

Mansour should have cut down to cruiser when he got out of the Pen. His style would have been much more suited to fighting those guys. At heavyweight, he is too short, and doesn't have the head movement or footwork to be very successful.

Agreed, he's 46 and not as good as he once was. He looked very poor vs Hrgovic, didn't even try to win. I think now he's an easy fight for any one half decent.

He did wildly swing for the fences against Hrgović when he was hurt but it got him nowhere. Doubt it’ll work any better against a guy who has a supposed 14 inch reach advantage over him.

Yes, Kuzmin looked awful against Mansour (comparing to Hrgovic)

A shame that the headbutt occured in the Kuzmin fight as it was shaping up to be an interesting fight.

Looks like Mansour is heading for gatekeeper status now. A good step up fight for Ajagba.

I’ll say it like this. Ppl say mansour is old but look closely at all of his opponents. I’ll go back to 2013. He beat a tall 6’4 Maurice Harris who had an 80 something reach. He knocked out kelvin price who was 6’7 or so with an 80 something reach and price hasn’t fought since. He was the “1st” fighter to ko fred kassi and it was a ko of year. He ended Joey dawejkos 4 1st round ko streak. He was the first fighter to put a blemish/draw on the taller longer reach Gerald Washington’s record. Yes he loss to Brezeale but he was winning on alll the scorecards and even knocked him down and brezeale was tall with long reach as well. He lost due to a tongue injury. He beat Travis Kauffman in his hometown and prior to that loss Kauffman hadn’t loss since 2009. His next 2 bouts were over seas. He had a no contest with kuzmin so we don’t know how it woulda played out due to the head butt. Filip beat him but mansour didn’t look hurt. He took a knee and was laughing as the ref was counting. If you read the fighthype interview he was fustrated with the kuzmin rematch date keep getting pushed back and couldn’t train right because of all that confusion and the kuzmin rematch never happened. Now he’s fighting now efe that’s 3 undefeated back to back fighters that he’s faced....(facing efe) so we see him knock down and beat tall fighters. We seen him give tall fighters a draw. Don’t count him out. His story is inspirational to accomplish what he’s done after prison. If he’s the same man who kept calling out wilder and believes in himself I believe he can do the impossible and beat efe despite the disadvantages

    Briggs-Mansour?
I agree though Mansour is fighting father time at this point.

More like grandfather time already. At age 42 I thought he was still looking excellent, but now he's about done.

The people here that were predicting a blowout tuned out to be right.

I think the biggest issue for him to overcome isn't becoming a contender, but actually making in into a titlefight. Because pretty sure neither Joshi or Wilder is going to give that guy a voluntary shot.

It seems like Amir really went downhill fairly quickly (I know he's 46). But Jesus he should have wins over Washington, he was beating on Braezale (until the biting through his tongue fluke accident), he has quite a few decent names. His last few fights, his body has physically changed, Amir was a fairly built guy. Now he's coming in soft. I think that his body and age simply hit that mythical wall and he can't do it anymore. It's terrible he never got his title shot. Not saying he would've won but there were guys he clearly should've been ahead of that got shots. Now, it's too late.

People should remember Mansour for that epic, Earnie Shaver's like brutal knockout punch against the stern chin of Fred Kassi. That was some epic ****.
