A boxer you always Root For

David Price.

He seems like a nice bloke. I feel sad for him because his first two stoppage losses were against a fighter who was on PEDs and tested positive. Yet the fights were never changed to NC.

I root for boxers like Carlos Takam, Humberto Soto and Shawn Porter, ring warriors who will fight anyone anytime anywhere. And I root for people who show class and good sportsmanship like Gvozdyk.

I root against vaunted queens like Andre Ward (who was always helped by dodgy officials and always refused to fight anyone decent without home advantage). I root against over-protected, over-rated frauds like Deontay Wilder, and loud-mouthed arrogant prats like Dillian Whyte.

 

Yes! I’ve always been a huge fan of David. Love his come forward, nothing but fastballs style. Plus, the dude speaks like 5 languages. Pretty impressive.

 

Root for: GGG, Usyk, Joshua, Lemieux, Price, Pacquiao, Murray, Lomachenko, Hurd, M. Garcia, Thurman, Munguia.

Root against: Deonkey, Clenelo, Horn, Davis, BJS, Teofimo Lopez, Broner, Gary O'Sullivan.

I can't get behind boxers who are characterized by being disrespectful of their opponents without good reason and/or consistently come across as arrogant, self deluded, vain or all three during conferences and interviews (which is not to say I'm unable to appreciate their talents).

 

John Ryder, Kell Brook, Dmitry Kudryashov (you just never know with this guy, but one things for sure, someone is getting KO’d), Lomachenko, Price, Golovkin, Lemieux.

 

When Povetkin starched him, for a brief moment I thought he was on the other side....

 

I always find myself rooting for Kovalev and Crawford
