Parker doesn`t have Wilder`s power or reach, if Deontay couldn`t keep Fury on the floor how the hell is Parker going to do it, he couldn`t knock out Whyte because he doesn`t punch as hard as AJ.
When Parker puts Fury down for the count, don't expect him to get back up & win the rest of the round like he did against Wilder.
It will be exactly like the Wlad fight because Parker proved against AJ he doesn`t have the savvy or desire to get inside on a longer armed fighter, he will never get past Fury`s jab even though he will use the same fast counter jab he used to spoil AJ, boring fight can`t believe I`m not going to see the Wilder rematch, the ending of the first fight was epic.
I don`t see why not and Parker won`t be able to put Fury on his back anyway, he really doesn`t punch that hard, look at the left hook he took off Wilde when he first got up, that punch was harder than anything Parker has ever thrown, Parker doesn`t have the heart and desire that Fury displayed v Wilder.
What about his effort in overcoming two knockdowns against Dillian Whyte (one from an illegal head-butt) to almost knock Whyte out in the last round of their fight? Another 30 seconds in that one & Whyte's goose was cooked. If that wasn't "heart and desire", what was it?
It's a Great Fight & I'm rooting heavy for Parker. Parker was cheated vs AJ that ref was paid everyone knows this.
Everytime Parker even remotely stepped up he struggled or flat out lost....... Whyte's is a glorified tough guy punch bag with heart but nothing else........if you are getting outboxed and need the 11th hour KO against yourneyman of the century, Chisora, in a re match because you barely scraped by that local clubfighter in the first go around you are limited beyond limited. Parker is a solid B - level gate keeper who will disappear into obscurity with a decent pension from his relative high profile losses.
I'm picking Parker in this one. Parker is looking for redemption & Fury is probably still slightly concussed from Wilder. I hope they're serious this is Parker's break through fight.
Fury might be damaged goods after having his chin cracked against Wilder. Parker could be poised to capitalize. I wonder if Top Rank / ESPN have considered that possibility? If so, they might serve up Bryant Jennings as an opponent instead. Gotta cover off risks in the first fight of a five-fight deal. Not doing so would make them Showtime.
Parker and his team insist on taking another loss. This is an absolutely crazy fight for them unless they're planning on cashing out or don't mind Joe becoming a high-level journeyman. I had high hopes for Joe at one point, but he's clearly hit his ceiling and seems fine to just coast from here on out. Good luck to him, but he'll likely never achieve close to what he could have done had he been a bit smarter and got with a better team.
