What do you think of Jacobs last 3 performances since his close fight with GGG? I've seen different opinions, some say he's looked great, others say he's not the same fighter since facing GGG or criticize him for not getting KOs. My take on it. For 1, he fought and beat 3 undefeated fighters: Arias, Sulecki and Derevychenko. He scored knockdowns against all 3, even though Arias and Derev seemed more like flash knockdowns. He dominated Arias who was in survival mode. The Sulecki fight was very close in my opinion. He was obviously concentrating too hard on getting the KO which allowed Sulecki to counter him and outjab him at times. Derev he dominated in the beginning but started to slightly fade later in the fight maybe it was stamina issues but DJ handled the pressure well and outboxed him he fought smarter than in the Sulecki bout. 1 of the judges gave it to Derev so DJ won a split decision. But overall, what do you think of DJ since his fight with GGG how has he looked? How do you compare his performances to Canelos or do you think these fights give us any idea how he will do against Canelo or his strengths/weaknesses?
I think hes looked phenomenal and like you said, clearly beat 3 very goodopponents with Derev possibly being a great win. Arias wanted no part of Jacobs and like you said all he triwd doing was surviving. Sulecki came to fight and Danny lost his focus at times but Sulecki is the type of fighter to do that. The Derev win is one of the best wins in boxing in the last 3-5 years and people dont seem to be giving him the props and respect he has earned for fighting and beating those three opponents who were all dangerous and talented boxers. He has quickly amd quietly built one of the best and most underrated resumes in boxing. Look at where he had to come from. Fast tracked way too early and young and was KO' by a much more developed and older fighter whan he was like 22 yeats old. Overcame Cancer. And bas gone on a ****ing tear since and IMO beat GGG, unlike Clamelo who lost twice to him. Danny is the best MW in the world IMO, and by quite a large margin and he is as talented as any boxer in the world. Natural talent and athletically -- he is easily top 10 p4p and after he beats that ginger clam he will finally get his due and be ranked top 10 p4p fighter overall. WAR DANNY JACOBS
In terms of taking high risk/low reward fights, he's probably #1 p4p. Noone else takes so many risky fights back to back.
Jacobs has the potential to make canelo look real bad. This is a terrible style match up for canelo. This is a bigger stronger better version of Trout who he definitely struggled with. In a fair world Jacobs would probably be favored in this fight. But since Canelo is the biggest A side in US boxing he’s gonna have a 3 point advantage from the jump
Cool cool I can roll with either but the kid BROUGHT IT when everyone just expected he was being fed to GGG. Hes impressed the he'll out of me, IMO most underrated fighter in the world and he is tied with Wilder in my top 5 favorite fighters at the moment. I dont see how anyone could dislike Danny Jacobs and not root for him.
Couldn't put it better. Athletically Canelo -- even juiced to the gills -- shouldnt be anywhere near a ring with Jacobs in it. Jacobs speed -- of foot, hand, and reflex, along with his explosiveness and strength pose Canelo serious problems that he's never seen or faced before. Trout nor Lara are faster in any way than Jacobs, nor are they as big, strong, or explosive.
Pity Floyd & Canelo dont have balls like Danny Jacobs. But they have the state commission covering their asses. If you dont KO them you lose a decision 118-110 But if you do KO them you'd just lose by SD
Jacobs is one of the most underrated fighters in the game today. What he did against GGG was incredible considering GGG was destroying everybody else he faced. The reason he hasn't scored more KO's lately is simply having better opposition in front of him. I think that he will give Canelo a hell of a fighter. Canelo is now hitting his peak and will probably beat Jacobs by decision.
Jacobs is really damn good and has a very good, and still underrated, resume. Easy to forget he knocked out every opponent he faced from the Pirog loss to GGG. That said, he's 32, has fought a high level of competition for awhile now, and is coming off a tough fight vs SD. I think he's still prime, but he likely doesn't have too much of it left. I'm glad he's gotten the big fights while he's in a position to take advantage of them.
