Can you believe that at the time, there were a ton of people that genuinely believed that CEJ deserved to win that?
If Eubank Jr won that fight then he won the Groves fight too, lol. Even without having much sympathy for BJS (and i don't like him at all) you can't even score it a DRAW.
Wilder fury 9 10 10 9 Close 9 10 10 9 Close 9 10 Close 9 10 Close 9 10 9 10 10 8 9 10 9 10 10 8 112 114 Decided to rewatch it as I had watched this live but decided to watch it again but this time sober. Felt like fury outboxed wilder for most of the rounds but wilder did land some hard shots throughout which edged him some rounds as we’ll as using the jab to edge a couple off rounds and scored 2 kds which won him 2 more rounds. Wasn’t the firefight the enitr match with both being hesitant of the other at times but fury do show a greater workrate and showed his skill throughout. Overall fury had a great jab, utilised his defense and head movement well making wilder miss a lot, landed some nice combos and single shots throughout, showe ddecent workrate and stamina, used his footwork well to move on the outside and come in and out of range, managed the range beautifully, showed a decent heart and chin, had decent speed, good accuracy and landed a variety of punches throughout and showed high ring iq in how he fought. Whereas wilder showed great power, nice speed, good right hand, decent jab, good chin and heart and landed the harder single shots throughout. Decent fight with both doing what they do best, wilder landing bombs and fury using his boxing. I did have it a draw but this one I have fury edging it just but can see both a wilder fury win and a draw. What scores did everyone else have?
Ward-Kov I was a robbery. I had it 116-111 to Kovalev and that was being generous to Ward's up-close mauling in the second half of the fight. BUT … Ward DID figure out the big Russian and that became apparent the further the 2 contests went on. Any hypothetical 3rd match would go the same way as the second.
Uzcategui plant 9 10 8 10 9 10 8 10 9 10 10 9 Close 9 10 Close 9 10 Close 10 9 10 9 Close 10 9 Close 10 9 111 115 A decent fight to watch it was. In the 1st half the fight plant was outworking uzcategui, was too slick and utilised the jab to win the rounds comfortably as well as scoring 2 kds. As the fight went on uzcategui started coming on stronger and plants stamina deteriorated allowing uzcategui to land the harder shots to win some of the closer rounds. Overall uzcategui showed good stamina, decent speed and accuracy, constant pressure and aggression which worked well towards the end, landed some hard single shots throughout, showed good heart, upped the workrate at the end and his inside game came on better as the fight went on and did good work to the head, whereas plant used the jab well, boxed well on the backfoot, used his footwork to mange the range and come in and out of range to land his shots, showed slick defense throughout, threw some great combos throughout and did some good bodywork throughout as well as to the head, good workrate in the 1st 8rounds, good heart and chin, showed good speed and accuracy as well as utilising the variety of shots he has and showed a high ring iq. It was a close fight in which plant won in my eyes. What scores did everyone else have? Need some more fight suggestions.
Yeah I remember people trying to claim this for Jr. Saunders' tank made the cards closer than they needed to be. It started this whole 'Jr started late' myth too. Think I had it 116-112 Saunders. Will probably rewatch soon
Eubank Jr De Gale 9 10 10 8 9 10 Close 10 9 Close 10 9 Close 10 9 10 9 10 9 Close 10 9 Close 10 8 9 9 10 9 117 108 A decent fight to watch it the amount of clinching from de gale was embarrassing honestly. So glad Eubank Jr bodyslammed him at the end. But yea it was obvious de gale had deteriorated but Eubank Jr has also improved Abit. Eubank Jr. Controlled the majority of the fight with de gale showing flashes of his former self with that left hand of his and landing accurately but Eubank Jr seemed to want it more and landed the harder and better shots overall. It was the same throughout with de gale nicking some close rounds or making them close but with Eubank Jr just doing enough to take the rounds. Overall Eubank Jr showed good workrate and Stamina, good work on the inside, decent pressure and aggression throughout, good speed and power, showed patience throughout and better ring iq the previous fights, good combos and hard shots and had de gale hurt numerous times. Whereas de gale had a nice left hand, decent accuracy, showed heart, nullified some of Eubanks offense at times with his clinching and decent speed. But yea a comfortable Eubank win. What scores did Everyone else have?
Also @CST80 You should try rewatching the Wilder/Fury match to see what you get. I did and gave 1 round extra to fury but a draws fine. Not as onesided as some think it was. @Chuck Norris @f1ght3rz Id be curious to see what scores youd get from rewatching it.
Barrera morales l 9 10 Close 10 9 10 9 Close 10 9 9 10 9 10 Close 9 10 10 9 10 9 Close 9 10 Close 10 9 10 8 115 112 What a war this 1st fight was honestly. One of my favourite fights honestly, was that good. Non stop action throughout with Barrera out fighting morales but morales did show some great boxing skills throughout to try outbox Barrera though. Both showed tremendous hearts and chins and both in my eyes are true warriors of the sport. Overall Barrera showed great pressure, aggression and stalking throughout, great bodywork throughout, showed great accuracy, good speed and power, nice defense throughout making it hard for morales at times to land flush even if he threw more punches, landed some great combos and single shots, high ring iq, fought great on the inside, nice punch variety and high workrate throughout. Whereas morales was the flashier fighter, boxed well on the backfoot and inside, nice footwork to make it hard at times for Barrera to land as he would zig zag side to side when moving forwards, good accuracy speed and power, good ring iq, threw some great combos throughout, high workrate, showed great recovery whenever hurt and utilised his boxing skills well at times. But overall it was a close competitive fight but Barrera won this one for me. What scores did everyone else have? @CST80 what did you get in the 1st fight of this trilogy?
