Could Jone's speed overcome Quarry or would Quarry's left hook find Jones chin and end it?

Interesting matchup. On some nights, I would take Roy to get a UD with his speed. But, the Jones of Ruiz, Tarver I, II, or III gets KTFO.

I'd favor Quarry by late KO here, though I wouldn't bet on it

Man idk. Had Jones retired after Ruiz I’d say RJJ but hard to pick him on the after...Gonna say RJJ by decision but I don’t really like it tbh

How about Jerry's right finding Jones chin as well? Unless Jerry's cut, he cops a somewhat wide UD or stops him.
Outside of the pan-Ruiz fight, was Roy ever a heavy or would he have been a successful heavy?
Ruiz 'plodded', Jerry attacked unless he utilized his counter punch skills inviting RJJ into the ropes for a bangfest. I don't think Roy would want to do that. :)

I reckon Jerry puts him down a couple of times and gets a decision win .

Jerry wouldn't fear RJJ, and Jerry sparred a lot with his lightheavy brother Mike.

    JQ would tko Roy.....mid-fight.

I'm a big Quarry fan, but if Jones fights smart he could win a decision.

The crucial word here is ,"could".

Best version of Jones takes a wide UD.

No light heavy with a glass jaw wins a "wide" ud over quarry. Quarry made big tough punchers respect his power and hand speed. He's no slouch.

Unless Quarry gets cut or is out of shape, even the best version of Roy is going to have a hard time. John Ruiz didnt have 10% of Quarry's heart or aggression.

Not to mention counter punching and timing! 2 things Quarry excelled at. This could easily look like Danny Garcia vs Amir Khan.

Jones was so fast though....I don't doubt that he could cut Quarry to ribbons. Yet, Quarry had enough punching power to take out any smaller man with Jones chin. But if RJJ did everything right, I suspect he'd take this.

If Quarry fights a Roy Jones that never existed in the real world -one who moves up to 193 before the age of the age of thirty- then my money is on Jones. If the one who fought Ruiz fights Quarry, I think he probably gets knocked out. Jones is just a higher class of fighter pound for pound, and I don't think the natural weight difference is big enough to give Quarry the edge prime for prime.
