Out of interest has a Haye vs Shavers thread been done to your knowledge. Its a fight I can decide a winner to.

Not since 2014. Feel free to comment in this thread or start a new one
    https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/earnie-shavers-vs-david-haye.506347/

But David Haye gets little love on this forum, and Shavers (As with many power punches on this forum) gets an inordinate amount of love. I would not expect much dialogue outside of a few “Shavers kills him” or Haye stubs his toe type of comments. But good luck with that.

There is a search function at the top of the page you can use to find out what threads might be out there....most people are understanding of newer posters getting acclimated but not everyone lol

What do people think of these two, I know Shavers has wicked power, but not really got a set of whiskers, Haye has a reach, speed and height advantage and has his own decent power.

I'm completely lost in my pick.

To me this is a toss up type 50/50 fight! I could see either guy stopping the other or Haye winning a cautious decision if he elected a safety first style, as I think his speed would help him seal this deal.

I am not a betting man, but if this was possible I would be tempted to lay some on a Haye win.

I'd bet on Shavers here, better wins at the top level of competition, and we all know extra power will help in a fire fight. Haye probably would throw his speed advantage out of the window for a quick kill

After a lot of thought, now I've seen a lot more Haye than Shavers but enough of both to say that the winner depends on Haye's gameplan, if he wants to keep Shavers at arm's length and box defensively he loses, he wouldn't be able to take a flurry (which would come after one shot) and he didn't have the experience to move for 12. However if he goes out guns blazing then he'll be fighting on Shavers terms (not a smart move) and he gets KO'ed. BUT if Haye fights similarly to the Chisora fight and blends the two, then I think he forces Shavers into a corner and staples his origami chin to the canvas.

Are they better wins or bigger names? Which good fighters did he beat?
Norton at the end of his career, Young when he was 7-3 to start his career. So is faded Jimmy Ellis at 33 is his best win? Or is there more to his resume.

No disputing a Shavers pick, just questioning who these better wins were against

I was thinking Norton, Bugner and Young

He also scored knockdowns against Holmes and Lyle, of course

Haye would be too tentative to engage with Shavers.

Also, if Shavers makes casual contact with Haye, he knocks the stuffing out of him.

Haye more skillful defensively and offensively, but Shavers makes that a non-issue.

At some point, early or late, Shavers gets tired of Haye and gets him out of there. Just depends on how aggressive Shavers wants to be really.

Lyle is not impressive to me personally as I find him more overrated than Tua on this forum, but of course since he beat Shavers (Lyle’s Lone decent win, so we have to build Shavers and Lyle up) I just don’t think Shavers resume is any better than Hayes. Except for of course losing to more and lesser fighters

I think this is one that could go either way depending on the day.

Haye's heavyweight record isn't anything special (though he was a very, very good Cruiserweight as we all know). His best win at the weight is probably over Derek Chisora who is probably a glorified journeyman really and the Valuev victory (which wasn't all that conclusive or impressive even though Haye was admittedly at a massive size disadvantage).

Other than that he put forward a meek losing effort against Klitschko and beat some names like Ruiz and Barrett who were well past their use by date and Audley Harrison who was just pathetic that night. Then he's inactive for years before Bellew ended his career. I think Shavers had better heavyweight credentials and wins compared to Haye without having the talent that Haye had.

It's a toss up either way for mine. Who lands first probably wins. Haye has the speed and ability to get off first but against a puncher like Earnie I'd expect him to be cautious maybe to his detriment. One thing about Earnie is that he was always looking to get the other guy out of there quick and there was never much caution on display there. It cost him a fair few times but it got him some devastating wins too.

Never been a Haye fan but this recent YouTube video of ‘old clips’ shows some impressive stuff when he was working with Booth

A very, very good cruiserweight? Based on what?

His CW run is much like his HW run, highly underwhelming.
