I feel this is nonesense and Wilder boxed and jabbed better v Fury than Bruno or McCall did in their dreadful fight in the mid-90`s, Ruiz had less skill than Wilder does also, Wilder would have landed far more jabs on Jones and knocked him out very quickly. Who was the worst world champ in the history of boxing skillwise?

Bull****. Maybe the least he cynically and fundamentally skilled but dont get it twisted, tbere is plenty of skill onvolved in his HIGHLY unorthodox style. Its unique thats for sure and should count for something. Ita not just pure luck he has beaten/drew with everyone he has fought and knocked oit all but two of his opponents. Power is nothing without the skill and delivery to land it. Wilder has very real skill and shouldnt be disregarded because of his unique skill set, he should be more respected and praised for it if anything.

I think John Sullivan was the boxer caught in the transition from bare knuckle to the more modern style of boxing we see today and by all the accounts I have read he was a fairly skilled individual for the time and would have needed to be in the era of no gloves.

Jim Corbett was considered a genius/revolutionary in terms of the sweet science too so I don't think you can label the early years as poor quality.

Of course boxing skill and technique evolves and adapts but these yester year champs relied more or grit and skill and being pure athletes like some of the more modern crop I would think.

Although Wilder lacks in technical ability, i'd say being able to end a fight at any moment with a single punch (which Wilder has done many times) is most certainly a skill. Disagree with Tony here... coming from an AJ fan!

Yet if they shared the same ring the worst world champ in history would send him out of the ring unconscious on a stretcher.

Marvin Hart (early 20th Century champion post-Jeffries) wants Wilder to hold his beer!

He wasn`t saying Wilder wa the worst, he added that Wilder has one punch KO power he was just talking about skill wise, he doesn`t think Wilder is a clever boxer at all, but yes in the 19th century heavyweight champs would have had no skill whatsoever, Corbett was the first heavyweight to use any sort of guile in the ring, but I don`t know the exact year that he beat Sullivan, Jack Johnson was the next heavyweight to take the game to the next level years later.

I`m pretty sure Wiler could have out-jabbed Sullivan without knocking him out, the reach difference would be astounding and Wilder`s pretty fast at evading shots against a shorter armed fighter, don`t forget Fury has a reach of 85 inches.
