I'm sure it's been done before but I don't remember it.

They were about the same age, but it's strongly apparent that Walcott aged unusually well and Louis aged unsually poorly. Would it still be close or does Walcott fare more like Baer, or Schmeling in the rematch?
(Let's assume for the sake of argument that Walcott is both young and well nourished, and has ample time to train.)

Both had extended periods out of the ring .
Louis from March 42 until Sep 46 that's 4 and a half years.
    Walcott from Jun41 until Jun 44 3 years .
Louis' inactivity was more recent when they met . I would pick Louis to stop Walcott late, all things being considered.

I think in his prime Louis would beat him pretty comfortably.

Prime Louis handily, but never easily over Walcott

Walcott likely drops him once, maybe twice, but you'd have to favor Louis to win.

Prime Louis beats Prime Walcott, 9/10 times....though on an "off" Louis night, Wacott might win by SD, given 'fair' judging.

A prime Louis v prime Walcott could still be entertainment ,maybe Jersey still drops him and gives him fits. But Louis still catches him at some point and deliver s a prime Brown Bomber ko !

Walcott’s cutesy style probably always an issue for Louis, and he probably walks Louis into a couple of big shots. Maybe, maybe even dropping Louis. However prime Louis had cat like reflexes and dynamite in either hand. Walcott would feel the wrath and be gone by round 7

If some of the people who dropped Louis could walk him into things, and had less pop, I'm confident JJW is dropping Louis at least once.

Anytime Walcott fought you had to be careful the man could punch and knew every trick in the book. I do believe prime for prime Louis who had great timing and a laser straight right would catch Walcott dropping him. Don't see Louis knocking him smooth like Marciano did but stopping him yes sir can picture that. But, you can never sleep on a fighter like Walcott its very possible with Louis's very straight up style he could get caught and stopped by one of Walcott's shots. I do rate Walcott higher than Max Schemling and he got the Job done with a prime Louis. Very good fight would love to have seen it prime for prime!!

You would probably have to take something like the Louis of the Nova fight, against the Walcott that Louis actually fought.

I think that Walcott would still be a box of tricks for Louis, but we have to conclude that Louis probably tracks him down and stops him, and does it better than in their second encounter.
