So why is Callum Smith not fighting ?

Think Hearn is lining up Canelo v Smith at Anfield if Canelo comes through Jacobs but I agree it’s a bit odd to hear no news about him and he should have a fight before the potential big one.

Just to add to this Bivol claimed he would drop down to challenge smith for the SMW title.

 

Agree. A Ryder would have been passable as a ticking over fight a few months after winning the title but now it would be a bit of a nonsense. Smith needs to be calling for a unification.

 

Done a fantastic job with a lot of people Hearn but he’s doing terrible with Smith at the minute. Riding the crest of that HUGE wave, massive win, Mohammed Ali trophy and everything that came with it. 6 months later he still hasn’t got a fight booked. It’s going to be closer to 9/12 months later before he has a fight. He should have got him out in Liverpool early this year headlining a Saturday night fight in a keep busy fight. Problem is Hearn thinks he’s PPV now or is it Callum who will only accept PPV purses?

It’s not happening. Hearn said they want more than Wembley plus Canelo is fighting May 4th so no way is he turning around before the football season in August.

I think he took an extended break because him and his Mrs. just had a baby.

This is the reason he hasn't had a fight, he wanted time out.

 

I hope they just let him have a couple of defences before focusing on the huge names- there is no need atm. Pretty well known fact that he barely sells tickets but can still be on a undercard to tick him over.

 

Why? Now is the time to get the big names and fights. What's the point in becoming world champion if you don't want big fights!
