I'd love to know what Costello really thinks of him. I sense the 'matey banter' between them is a tad forced on his behalf....
Sometimes there's a slight pause (whilst Bunce is presumably desperately supping oxygen from a mask) before Costello dryly moves on to another actual point, as opposed to what has gone before, namely a two minute, breathless stream of concsiousness relaying the movement of every neuron firing in Steve Bunce's cranium. That's the pause in which Costello is thinking of where he keeps his samurai sword and how quickly he could administer the killing stroke.
Reading this thread - seems that there’s no one left to like in boxing - I’m gonna concentrate my time watching reruns of little house on the prairie
British boxing has nothing on that little ***** Nellie oleson or her vile troll of a mother. As for Micheal Landon the smarmy Smaug sonovabitch....
I'm the total opposite. When watching old fights on youtube if I can't find a fight with British commentary and have to watch the HBO version then I mute it almost every single time, Merchant, Foreman and Roy Jones are decent but Jim Lampley I find unbearable, his voice, blatant bias towards HBO fighters and calling punches that clearly missed or were blocked as landed.
So, stop the press Prince Patel is against all odds the last man standing in the great boxingforum24 boxing Royal Rumble.
Howard Foster: the Mike Dean of boxing referees, always looking to make it about himself. The king of the awfully premature stoppage. No doubt there are more sinister motives too. Adam Smith: a rat and weasel and snake of a man. Massively overreacts to action in the ring. A weak landed jab is enough to make him ejaculate and pronounce that the fight is on the "verge of being stopped". Steve Bunce: a dunce and a pretender. I find him neither entertaining nor informative.
"hanging on for dear life" is a bit of a stretch... He was fighting with one arm !! it was nothing that Eubank did to cause that situation. In fact a one armed Groves in the last round still landed the better punches! Eubank is still a bit of a handful but if you have good distance control and decent feet you can handle him.
Khan has been a world champion and held multiple world level belts. I severely doubt Anthony Yarde ever gets his hands on anything more than a WWE belt from Argos.
Indeed. Like him or not Khan has beaten over half a dozen world champions. Yarde has beaten over half a dozen taxi drivers. They're incomparable. People talk about Khan as deluded largely on the basis that he spent years chasing a Mayweather/Pacquaio fight. My point regarding that is always that Khan beat Algieri, he beat Maidana, he beat Alexander and he beat Kotelnik, and people he beat also themselves beat the likes of Ortiz and Broner. When the likes of Ortiz, Broner, Algieri, Maidana, even Berto are getting Mayweather/Pacquaio shots, I think Khan is entitled to think he could, maybe should have got one too.
Let's be dead honest here, Floyd fighting Berto was a plain Khan duck move.. there is no debate out of this fact.
Froch .. Was fun to watch.. But was that much of a cok I couldn't like him.. Khan... Had a brief period where he turned me around and I liked him.. But then he ruined it chasing fights he didn't deserve talking like he's the man after beating bin men Bellew ... Everything he does everything he says... Everything Haye .. For not putting Bellew into orbit
With guys like Smith and froch Jim watt doesn't seem quite so bad now eh guys?! Watt was in a different league to these guys and didn't toe to some sompany line that's for sure! Only guy I think is worth his salt that sky sometimes get on is Paulie M. Going by how vocal he was in the corner of degale to me says he shld defo try his hand at training fighters
