Look at the resumes of the fighters Ali beat and face. Ali can box and if he needs to can brawl as well.

I'd say Mike Tyson, most people (casuals) tout he's unbeatable which isn't correct. As well as in his prime he didn't really do anything to make him an ATG

    george boy collins

wont be known much on esb except for older uk posters

he was a flashy welterweight who warren promoted turned pro at 17

he was fed every trialhorse in the uk / he was on tv non stop normally on live sat afternoon shows that used to be the norm / itv world of sport i think it was / could have been grandstand .

he was decent in skills but it was all v cannon fooder fight after fight

even in fight 30 plus he was fighting against fighters he should have been in with in his 5th fight

eventually aged 22 and now 35-0 with the best record of a british fighter of that era he was put in against gary jacobs
not a bad fight but he was knoked down and lost on points

next up kirkland laing bit old in the tooth but a decent fighter

laing hit him i forget what punch and collins whole body looked like he had been electrocuted /short circuting and he was stopped in 5

retired aged 35-2 aged 22 years old. his best win a trialhorse with a 20 win 20 loss record and being it was on free tv a total viewing audience for his fights of i would guess close to 100 million views.

Underrated by hipsters. Boxing fans with boxing experience can see that a focused and well trained Tyson had the potential to beat any heavyweight in history. He wasn't unbeatable though, but he's one of the most athletically gifted boxers in history, if not the most.

The man could shift extremely fast. Extremely technical in his movements. Ridiculous speed at that weight. His height advantage meant he needed to drill his technique perfectly, so without proper training you coild easily see him falling off. His resume isn't too great though, but it's about the eye test.

Most over rated EVER? That’s a long time frame to pick one guy. Guys will get pissy over my answer but it’s gotta be Floyd. He’s a great boxer, no doubt. An ATG but there’s a lot of people calling him top ten...a lot of these idiots call him number 1 all time. Those are examples of overrated. He was far to opportunistic and far to much of a primadonna to be rated that highly. His career was managed beautifully to make him the biggest financial success in the sports history, but crafting a career that carefully hurts the ATG rating. An atg for sure but still being very overrated by most.
Broner is a good mention but I don’t think he’s the most over rated ever. He is however the biggest HYPEJOB of all time.
Canelo deserves a big mention. He could easily have 5 losses already on his record, and should definitely have 3 in most peoples opinions. Don’t care how any one person sees it, the MAJORITY thinks he should have at least 3 L’s on his record. Personally, I think he should have 4. Add in all the catch weights and primadonna crap...he is VASTLY over rated.

Fought like baby lamb And still had the highly overrated ginger dazed 2-3 times and still won the fight in the eyes of most people watching. Beat Canelo going forward then beat him going backwards and got robbed both times. Nothing sadder than haters/fanboys who latch onto robberies as if they are deserved wins/losses for their favorite/most hated fighters.

Floyd Mayweather was nothing less than brilliant in his boxing career. He is one of the very few fighters ( less than ten ) who adjusted his style to compensate for maturing and lessoning of his physical abilities and still maintained an invincible defense and a frustrating offense. He designed punches to fit his opponent. His offensive arsenal was second to none and his ring IQ was that of a master. 95% of fighters will fight the same way their entire careers with only minor adjustments and that includes great fighters. Look at Pac, Cesar Chavez, and Holyfield. If you watch Floyd from his first fight until his fight with Pac, you will see him do at least three major adjustments and they all coincide at each third of his career. He was the best that ever did it in his era and stands shoulder to shoulder with any ATG. Over rated!!! GTFOH.

Yes it is , that’s what good promoters do , build up your fighter and at some point go for the big money.
