    1. I don't disagree entirely. IN fact I thought at the time Triple GGG was insisting on all the belts to avoid going up to 168 to be honest. Because Ward was technical, too big, and manhandles him .

    2. Hmmmm. not sure the judges should be swayed by pre-fight talk either way. The bottom line with Canelo is that Triple GGG struggles with his style. Canelo has a stylistic advantage over a Triple G type fighter. That's the irony of Canelo running in the first fight, keeping the action distant and allowing Triple G to (kind of) dominate. He's better off up close - sure you risk getting your head taken off but Canelo's head/upper body movement is superb. Triple GGG didn't struggle because he was afraid, he struggled because he struggled.

if you actually compare 3Gs first 4 proper world title defences (of a title he won) to the first four of hopkins, then 3G's are a mile better.

    Observe -

Hopkins had Frank Lipsey James Jackson. Of these only Jackson had former title pedigree (albiet in 2 divisions).
3G had Wade Krook Jacobs Vanes Canelo. Thats one who has gone on to scrape a title, and one who is a multititlist.

As you can see, if you count correctly from the first title that 3G won, his first four or five fights are superior to the first 4 or 5 hopkins defences.

ALl that 3G has to do now is match the other 16 of Hopkins defences and he will surely be better. SO watch out Bernie, your record is soon to be eclipsed.

It is only when liars try to pretend 3G made defences earlier that his record looks weaker. Well fo course it looks weaker that way - before he won ibf belt, he was making mostly bum defences that you are trying to include/enforce on him as legit! You people are making 3g look bad.

1-exactly. Golovkin likes being the bigger, stronger guy and also hates having a disadvantage in technique. Guys like Gilberto Ramirez, Dirrel, Ward etc who tower of him at 6'1-6'2 and skilled boxers with good chins and can bang hard could have been stylistic nightmares. Abel boasting that hed ko anyone from jr middle to super middle was hot air. He didnt even want to trade with a flat footed zero ring iq caveman like Lemiux.

2-yes i had ggg slightly ahead in the 1st fight. At first canelos movement and defense was amazing but it was obvious he wasnt used to that kind of pace and he blew his energy. Wasnt able to sustain it and got hit too much.

Based on your response, that guy would always struggle and that canelo always has a style advantage, combine that with the fact he just barely got the nod against Jacobs then his h2h record at middleweight isnt very good honestly. He would need a concincing win over someone like andrade or charlo or even a jacobs rematch to really be considered a truly great fighter of his own era, let alone all time. Having a long reign feasting on guys like a 147 pound brook, never shows up scared willie Monroe, or battering a limited 1 dimensional lemiux just isnt cutting it resume wise compared to other great middleweights.

i am a big G fan but if u cant beat an elite from the lower divsion, no way should u consider climbing in the ring with an ATG type from the upper divisions, it would end in tears for 3G.

Facts? You take more liberties than the North Koreans!!

Yeah, they offered to fight when 3G already had a contract signed for another guy... NOT to mention, Ward moved to LtHW when he returned. Guess you forgot those little tidbits...
