Why is Breazale being given a mandatory shot at the WBC title ahead of Whyte?

It's covered in the statement on their site Mark. They anticipated a negative reaction because they've made such a mess of things so they set out the chronology in some detail.

Man. There is no ****ing reason. Trevor Bryan is ranked #1 in the WBA rankings, Fres Oquendo is ranked #3 in the WBA rankings. Tom Schwarz is ranked #2 in the WBO rankings and Otto Wallin #5 in the IBF rankings. Can you explain that to me? LOL. Man it's boxing. Money talks.

 

Whyte is a danger and breazele is not. Simple.

 

Whyte wasn't the number 1 when Breazeale won his final elimination bout with Molina . He was 3 or 5 ? Both got rearranged in the rankings later on . Breazeale was the official next mandatory when Stiverne dropped that fight because he became Wilders opponent which was counted as a mandatory defense.

whyte also hold the Silver belt by the rules it says Silver belt champion requires a final elimination bout, Breazeale doesn't have to fight any final ones because he did that in Molina fight who was Stivernes replacement.

Being number 1 doesn't mean anything about being mandatory , they shifted Breazeales ranking further down at one point for inactivity but that's because he was supposed to fight Wilder ? Lol This didn't take away his Mandatory status.


That's why he's fighting Wilder who could have fought him before Fury or instead of Fury.

Brazeale was the first mandatory and stepped aside so that Wilder could fight Fury. Even though Whyte has supplanted him in the rankings, that means DB gets the shot, since Whyte never actually fought for a mandatory position in the WBC rankings (he could have fought Ortiz for one, but fought Parker instead).

You can criticize the WBC's rankings, but if you want them to enforce their mandatories, then you would have to expect that Brazeale would get the shot in case a Wilder-Fury rematch fell through. And yeah, that would apply even if Fury had won the WBC title against Wilder in December.

 

Bingo. WIlder's people perceive him as beatable and less likely to expose their fraud's fragile whiskers.

 

Because Wilder's team want him to fight Breazeale and not Whyte.
