Probably my biggest is that Ali deliberately lost to Spinks so he wouldn't have to fight Ken Norton a 4th time, knew that he would get a rematch, win the title for the 3rd time and never have to fight Norton again.
He wasn`t scared of Cotto who beat Antonio and Manny beat him easily fighting like Floyd using clever movement.
li was finished by then anyway and shouldn`t have been near a ring after the Shavers fight when his speech slowed dramatically.
D`amato Tyson`s former mentor told Ali in a rare tape on youtube that Marciano would have been his biggest threat out any heavyweight that he had seen at that time.
No $hit. Then Ali should have rightfully retired after Shavers and vacated the WBA and WBC belts. Ken Norton was the one who got screwed unjustly.
Okay, here are mine. Quartey beats Trinidad at 147. McCallum beats Hearns at 154 or 160 Zsolt Erdei was the best lightheavy of the late 2000's and could have beaten Tarver, Johnson, Hopkins and Dawson.
Cotto never beat Margarito. the second fight was a repeat of the first except Margarito was blind in one eye from round 2 Cotto STILL couldn't beat him Cotto started to wilt AGAIN & suddenly the ref stops the fight Not to save Tony;s eye but to save Cotto quitting AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Manny & Paul Williams are the only ones I saw legitimately beat Tony & I'd known him since 1999
Cotto became a diva after first Margarito fight.. I remember him kissing his young son on the mouth in his dressing room before his fight with Mayweather... I was actually really hoping Margarito would finish the jobs in the rematch and I thought it was a punk move to target Margarito's eye
ROFLMAO Wlad saw what Lennox did to Vitaly & took to the hills. Lennox would have fought him then . There was no one else he'd beaten Vitaly Ike was otherwise engaged so Lennox did the right thing & retired & STAYED RETIRED!!! Now he's a healthy Wealthy Happily Married man with a great family. He deserves it too
