Liston vs Patterson 3 should have been on 2/25/64 (in lieu of C.Clay), and Patterson shocks the World by k.o.ing Liston via an "Ingo fight" grade left hook in Round 5.

Hamed would've beaten Barrera on a different night and their actual fight was pretty close.

Marciano could have competed with anyone h2h including today’s “shw”.

Think Canelo beat GGG twice lol

Mayweather is a top 5 ATG

Dempsey should be near the top of any h2h list

Duran is overrated, I have Hagler over him

Boxing isn't dying, hell, I'd say it's thriving pretty well thanks to the app boom and how a lot of pay-per-views are still being sold to this day

I think Joe Louis is vastly overrated...

Always pitted against Ali in these mythical matchups. Ali would absolutely destroy him. Not even close. Also against other ATG's.

Max Schmeling is overrated due to his win over the vastly overrated Louis.

Dempsey is vastly overrated (by most).

Patterson is overrated (if thats even possible).

Ali was NOT diminished against Frazier for the first fight. If you make that argument, you should do the same for Frazier.
Both guys had career-best performances that night, and against the best fighters of their careers.

I believe that was the best versions of both guys possible.

I understand and respect alternative viewpoints and I know the thread is controversial opinions but these just seem baseless assertions:
"The names on his resume don't stand out"? To name a few he fought (world champions all):
    Johnny Kilbane
    Willie Ritchie
    Freddie Welsh
    Johnny Dundee
    Rocky Kansas
    Ted Kid Lewis
    Jack Britton

"Wish washy with consistency and dominance"? How does that statement stack up against Leonard being undefeated World Lightweight Champion 1917-1924 with a record of 82-2-1 during that period, and his the only defeats a newspaper decision that was avenged and a suspicious DQ against Britton in a fight he was winning up to that point?

That's a complete lie. Watch AKA Cassuis Clay with Ali and Cus never mentioned Rocky Marciano beating Ali. He says Ali wouldn't have beaten JOE LOUIS.

Tyson bit Holyfield in their second fight not because he was getting outboxed but that he was pissed that Holyfield was like a billy goat but the ref didn’t seem to care. Tyson actually seemed more prepared than in the first fight and had it actually continued without all the fouling and biting, the outcome might not have been the inevitable Holyfield forgone conclusion win that everyone seems to think.

Perhaps Tyson should have, oh I don't know, tried punching the guy instead of going cannibal?

The key flaw in boxing, dating to the late 1800's, is that rings are simply too damn big. The ring size should have always been significantly smaller, to ensure that nearly every fight be a slugfest.

Despite all the corruption in and around boxing, the vast majority of judges decisions are fair and defensible, and robberies are exceedingly (surprisingly!) rare. Fans who cry robbery generally just don't understand boxing scoring.

I don't think that disproves it. People sometimes contradict themselves, especially years apart.
