Yarde can only dream of Burnetts achievements at this stage

I agree with some of this
    He looked OK last night
    Footwork looked slightly improved
Took a few digs albeit from a soft puncher
And looked calm and composed throughout

I think Yarde did exactly what he was supposed to do, beat up on a 38 year old man who started boxing at 32.
It was a good performance, not great and not horrible. He could fight guys like these every month if he wanted to.

And I'm looking at BoxRec rankings and he has plenty of options next:

    Sven Fornling
    Dominic Boesel
Fanlong Meng - guy who retired Buglioni
    Damien Hooper
    Blake Caparello
    Issac Chilemba

I’m not sure what you’re finding sickening, mate. We’re getting this lad chucked down our throats as this amazing talent yet he’s fighting opponents who are notably light hitters and who are not ranked in the top 20, even 30? We’re not naive enough to lap it up, it’s a boxing forum and we’re gonna pick it to bits.

He definitely carries power, speed and timing. Big thumbs up to that. His footwork needs a lot of improvement and he needs to stop leaving himself wide open for the right hand. It could be argued that if he fought a hurtful puncher, that could be exploited.

His progress reminds me of an Attenborough animal documentary I watched which had meerkat parents teaching their young how to catch scorpions (for food). First the parent would catch the scorpion, pull its sting off then step back and let their young practice pinning it down and killing it without the risk of getting stung. Yarde’s opponents have no sting, he’s just practicing which is fair enough but they need to pipe down with the lions in the camp, he’s ready for Kovalev nonsense.

Noticed on Twitter Lyndon Arthur say he would beat him last night. Very easy fight to make , be each other's best opponents .

Isn't this exactly the same thing that everyone has been saying for his last several fights?

I've seen similar lists posted about 5 times now over the last year for potential opponents

    This, or Craig Richards.

It's clear team Yarde want none of Buatsi, Johnson or Burton to why not?

Cos he's just not very good ! Gets hit far to easily, against the elite he's getting stopped and early . He's not very likeable either is he ? Very delusional, ala eubank Jr.

He's not very likeable, I agree. It's like he's been programmed to speak only in clichè and positive mantra mode, all that bollocks. It's like a mask to his actual personality, there's a fakeness to him.

Yarde's level of opposition is shocking. Look at the current boxrec world rankings of his last 4 wins, and the strongest opposition he has faced in his career.

Reeves- Ranked 49th. Only been boxing for 6 years and already beaten 3 times (two of those losses against complete nobodies)
Sequeira- Ranked 61st. An Argentinan club fighter who only ever fought at domestic Argentian standard.
Sek- Ranked 116th. Polish/German small hall fighter. Recently iced in 2.
Averlant- Ranked 163rd. French/German low level fighter. Iced in 1 by Buatsi, whilst it took Yarde 7 rounds.

That is horrific for someone claiming to be elite and ranked number 2 by the WBO.
He hasnt even faced anyone approaching world level yet to even justify being considered world level himself.

    This is spot on.

Yarde reminds me of guys who were fed by Warren on absolutely shocking opponents in the main who ended up getting found out badly when they stepped up.

Not a perfect comparison, but I always thought one of the reasons why Enzo Maccarinelli seemed so overawed when he fought Haye was because he was used to the big venue and world title defence against rubbish. Bobby Gunn and Mohamed Azzaoui really weren't adequate preparation for an elite cruiserweight. It's abundantly clear to me that the opposition Yarde has faced is the same when talking about someone like Kovalev.

I don't disagree; as I say I'm not convinced by yarde I think he's an okay fighter but never a world beater. Too me he's the villain type boxer, doesn't care if people want to see him lose, and that will be his success. All I'm saying is I understand warren biding his time with yarde. Last year was a hard one for British boxing a lot of titles lost a lot of prospects lost. I think Dubois and yarde are probably warrens easiest fighters to sell to the casuals. I would also argue BT regularly put on better shows for the hard-core boxing fans then Hearn, but there's not a lot in it. I thought the Garton fight was quality and the bits I saw of Williams was too. I thought it was a good night of boxing last night to be fair.

We know for a fact that the following fighters have openly turned down/pulled out of fights with Yarde...
Buglioni, Sean Moynahan, Ricky Summers, Amar and god knows who else.
Yes, I know, before anybody says it, but I think it’s only fair to point out that they have tried to get better opponents. Even Eddie Hearn, who is shopping in the same market for Buatsi opponents has admitted how difficult it is for both him and Warren to secure opponents for both fighters.

Yarde has essentially been compensating for the lack of Amatuer experience in the pro ranks on TV which doesn’t help him to convince an unforgiving audience like the miserable sods on here, who are ready to critisize whatever he does. Having said that, as I have said their PR is terrible which I think has also lead to the over the top hate particularly on this forum.

If he fights one of the solid opponents that many have suggested, and shows he’s the goods against them, the tide will turn. He could be 1 fight away from Kovalev and if he was to win he’s a major star.
