Except whether or not Spence is the best isn't a fact set in stone, so long as Thurman is the reigning WW Champ. IMO, if Mikey wins, it says more about Mikey than Spence Jr.
Thurman is past the point on competing with Spence imo, you have to give top slot to the one fighting regular, Thurman needs to show hes still very good, im not sure he has it 100% physically or mentally anymore. If Mikey wins it means im ****ing clueless, that's how confident I am Spence gives him a beating down the stretch. A big and very good welter v a very good lightweight, its a big ask for skills to bridge the gap here imo
First of all, not coming directly from lightweight. Second, not just among "the best lightweights", but consistently rated top 15 p4p several years running. But okay yeah, "horrific", whatever...
I don’t think it would hurt his career very much, since Spence is still very green. It wouldn’t be a shocker for an experienced and proven long time champion like Mikey to beat a bigger, but less experienced and much less proven guy like Spence, who seems to have very suspect stamina and a suspect chin. Spence would just have to rebuild, which he is still young enough to do.
Yes by some miracle he was able to make 135lbs and squeeze in one last defense (+ unification) after moving up and beating a very good 140lber in Lipinets. So?
I'm sure it's a mismatch, this guy isn't on Brooks level at this weight imo?Garcia held a title at 126lbs,let that so k in.If Spence starts walking him down as he did Brook, his team will have to look after him. this fight is not close imo
it's not healthy but it does reflect how many think, most of my boxing heroes have some losses and I couldn't care less. whilst I think Garcia is up against it,he's probably a tougher proposition than Porter,Thurman and Danny Garcia given recent form.
So he's coming directly from Lightweight then, squeezing doesn't come in to it, he made 135 in his last fight, no miracles no jesus, JUST DIRECTLY FROM LIGHTWEIGHT as I said and you said "NOT"..Clear case of spasticness from a spastic !
Well, the Ring magazine has Mikey as their top 7 pound for pound, and Spence — as top 10. That's very close. At the same time Errol Spence fights at welterweight and Mikey currently is a champion at 135. That's two weight categories apart. If Spence doesn't beat Mikey, he's overrated and shouldn't be anywhere close p4p rankings.
