Doesn’t mean much. I seen Ronald Gavril get the upper hand on Wilder and Oleksandr Gvozdyk in sparring several years back, but wouldn’t bet on Gavril to win in an actual boxing match against either.

To be honest, I've always suspected that Spence got Floyd in sparring. When you think about it, Spence is extremely mild mannered. He is not no trash talker like AB or like Whyte or Miller at all. Even when he goes back at forth with other fighters he tame as ****. Spence is way too respectful as a person, so what could have upset Floyd so much that he threw Spence on his gym?

Now the story goes that Floyd kicked Spence out of the gym after the first sparring session. Why would Floyd kick him out of the gym, Spence is way too mild mannered to provoke Floyd like that with words. The only reason I thought on at the time was that Spence must have put a whooping on the Money man, so much so that Floyd got so angry he told his people to kick him out of the gym. That is the most logical thing to me.

What do I know though lol.

I once whooped a 6x time national champ.
And then I couldn't touch him a week later.

Sparring is sparring, and IMO Floyd never engaged in hard sparring. He threw sharp and precise punches, but he never went hard. So I doubt his sparring with Spence was serious.

As I said, Floyd doesn't like hard sparring. Just look at the few available clips.
So your reasoning is likely right on the money(he he).

There is nothing cool about taking punishment, especially in sparring.

This. I can’t stand idiots that go 100% in sparring. Guys that do that have a hard time finding sparring partners.

And it's a real issue when it comes to top level guys. The sparring partners always think they have something to prove, but they don't. They are there to help the other guy.

TMT got into a lot of trouble for the wars that went on in their gym. A lot of Wild Card guys took some serious beatings due to that all out mentality.

****, I remember this one guy clowning and beating up Manny. But Manny was just doing his thing until he went Pacman on his ass. It was hilarious and brutal. The kid suddenly realized that he was way out of his depth and there was nothing he could do.
