Cotto really might be the most overrated. I think he gets beaten soundly by almost every ATG at 140 or 147 including all his countrymen(Benitez Trinidad Rosario Camacho, heck I think Wilfredo Rivera and Danny Garcia might even be a 50/50 fights for Cotto

??? Out of curiosity who has picked Cotto to beat some greats, or has there ever been a consensus on him beating some greats?

It's not out of the question, it's just highly unlikely.

H2H these fighters get overrated when talking mythical match ups:

    SRR
    Ali
    Duran
    SRL
    Monzon
    Ricardo Lopez
    Salvador Sanchez

Today I think people really overrate Mayweather and Lomachenko's abilities.

I know I'm in the minority, but I believe Joe Louis gets overrated h2h. What I mean by that is, if you have him in your top 10 h2h, he's not overrated. If you have him top 3, I believe he's being overrated.

Gotta agree to be honest. Although Marciano and Dempsey both deserve mentions

You should have been on this forum 10 years ago there was a bunch of Dempsey advocates. Very few anymore. To me he is outside of the top 10 and while there may be some Dempsey advocates they are not a vocal majority. I would say he has tapered off at least as far as this forum goes.

Marciano is a tough one. There is a small segment that overrates him but they are matched in numbers vociferousness and animosity by a vocal core of detractors and underrated....gotta say in honesty that the detractors and hate filled rants about him are my least favorite posts on this forum. I rate him at 10 not sure if that makes me in the under or over rating crowd?

I have heard a ton of people call him P4P a top 3 Puerto Rican of all time and they site H2H as one of the reasons

I've got Marciano a little lower than 10 maybe 11/12 (I haven't got an actual heavyweight list however) but that's a good 5 places above Dempsey. I've seen how overrated he was in those threads whilst reading hyperthetical match ups.

Andre Ward is another one. I think people have him beating almost everyone at 168 except Roy and they have him beating a lot of guys at 175.

I think at 168 Collins, Hearns, and Toney beat him.

At 175 theres plenty who would be big favorites
