So AL Haymon made Wilder/Quillin/Broner turn down career high paydays? SMH what really going on?

Big difference here is Haymons is an advisor and not a promoter and therefore can’t be exclusive.

Is he advising fighters what’s best for them or him?

Hearn has got Corolla fighting on ESPN when was the last time Haymon did the same

 

Its definitely weird how these fighters bow down to Al Haymon. At press conferences, after fights, interviews its always "I must first thank Al Haymon....". Its the same with every fighter advised by Al Haymon.

 

I believe the standard Haymon contract is 3 years from what I've read previously.

 

They actually are free agents, since regardless of what Haymon recommends he can still be overruled by the fighter.

Also, the RocNation deal had conditions such as Broner actually winning his fights, which is something Broner doesn’t even try to do anymore, so I don’t blame him for sticking with PBC. Broner is still getting paid good money to just go through the motions. For a consistent fighters like Mayweather, Ward, Wlad, etc.. these type of deals make sense, but not for someone like Broner.

Quillin from what I understand at the time was having out of ring problems and wasn’t training like he was supposed to, so that may have been one of a few reasons for Haymon talking him out of fighting with Korobov. Although I do have to admit from the beginning Haymon most likely wanted Quillin to fight Jacobs, who was also managed by him.

As far as Wilder goes he seems pretty adamant about not being tied down by a promoter, since he hasn’t been officially connected with any one promoter since his days with Oscar. That said Wilder can always change his mind after the Breazeale fight, since I don’t see DAZN giving up easily on signing him.
