Is the boss of DAZN just laundering dirty Mafia money??? There's no way that any of these fights will make any profits, maybe not even break even. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited that boxing is alive and people care about it, and its getting more recognition... but I dont think they will start seeing profits until 2044.
DAZN gets its money from other sports under DAZN in other countries. They have a steady stream of cash flow ,spending isn't the concern its acquiring fighters to slowly dominate the U.S boxing market which they will. Losing profits in the U.S aren't denting them at all, the money generated in other countries make it viable to continue to pursue anything they want ,even can take on the NFL if they aquire the XFL with partner Vince McMahon which would be great to if you like U.S football .
Al Haymon and whoever is bankrolling his promotion. I heard this before about another company that did the same thing. Called themselves Premier Boxing Champions. Also the XFL failed in 99 it will fail again. Vince doesn't know when to give up.
XFL had bad promotion stratedgy and focused on WWE antics more , it will look like a great product. Vince knows how to do things that put a different spin on things he just has to stick with it this time. If you go find the XFl documentary it goes into all the reasons it failed. I participated in one of Vince McMahons boxing tournament he was creating back in the day a toughman like set up ,and he had us do brief predictions on the mic before the bell rang. A WWE like set up, which charged us up more. McMahon is a master at making sports event take off , failing the first time will only help correct that now .
MJ was anally raped as a child. When this happens it shoots up through the spine & can split the brain in half. MJ was a product of his environment imo.
I stopped watching wrestling years ago when Vince just pretended he was a commentator, obviously a super smart, savy operator. Always felt if there was any other person who could manufacture a victory like Trump had, it would be him.
I stopped watching as a regular viewer around 1995. You know that Boogeyman wrestler? I came home one night and his autographed picture was on my table , the Boogeyman had been there.
DAZN is pretty much owned by Leonard Blavatnik, the richest man in the UK ($20 Billion). What they are spending on boxing is nothing compared to what they already spend in say Italy for example $700m a year on Serie A rights. It's already about to launch in Brazil and Spain after being very successful in Japan, Germany and Italy. They will spend billions even if they don't earn a profit like what Netflix did, until they have enough subscribers world wide for them to make huge profit. You are seeing nothing yet, wait until MLB, NHL, NFL, NBA rights come for sale, then you will see real money. If they launch in the UK I expect them to try and take away EPL from Sky and that will cost them $5 billion+
DAZN has a great big dirty loan. No doubt backed up by property. However none of the banks providing the loan would seriously be able to recover their losses given the labyrinthine of ownership structures. Think the shady Americans who brought Manchester United with a loan and then when the repayments were due stopped financing the team with new players, and instead used that loan for repayments. Right now DAZN is in the honeymoon period in terms of throwing cash around- you just wait and see how much they suck when the loan interest payments are due.
Why do you think they call him Edward Longshanks? Because when your legs are that long your pockets can be as deep as.
