Lewis and Holy beat Tyson at long range so did Buster, Lewois clinched a lot whenever Tyson closed the distance, was there ever a fighter that could have beat prime Mike at mid-range?
Interesting...although I’d say Holyfield beat Tyson inside not long range but it’s been awhile since I watched the fights. In the first six rounds of a fight I’ll say no one. After that there are many that could.
Judging by history if you're going to beat Tyson its usually because he have him beat from the start. Douglas, Holyfield and Lewis for that matter all did very well early on and were able to maintain their effectiveness over the course of the fight. Only Frans Botha was unable to do so despite having a strong showing early on. If Tyson is ahead after 6 rounds, he's not going to lose.
Dempsey and Holyfield Marciano could compete with him but I think his best work would come in the inside
Yes sir, quite a few of them, Around his time i'd say as long as Morrison didn't get caught first he'd have a good shot. Gerry Cooney would have a great chance with Tyson at mid-range. An interesting match up would have been George Chuvalo 'best chin in boxing history' vs a young Prime Tyson under the old rule set 15 rounds!!
Dempsey hits harder than anyone Mike ever fought, Mike hits harder than anyone Dempsey fought. Pretty good exchange. Dempsey fought Firpo, Brennan and Fulton, though the latter didn't land much lol Anyways imo Tyson hits harder but Dempsey is faster, might clock Tyson first and set a bad snowball effect
