Vitali said he would never have fought Wlad because they are brothers.

I agree Toney didn't fight well. meaning not at his best. The dude had to lose like 20-30lbs going into that fight and Roy knew it, but hey, JT's fault. Didn't do drugs or alcohol, but couldn't escape BBQ ribs, couldn't walk away from some sweet potato pie, laughable, but true!

Yeah, I think Roy had decent footwork, not great. Guys like him, Mayweather or Ray Leonard. Running to one side of the ring isn't footwork to me.

Pep had it, Pernell had it, Bhop unbelievable footwork; two steps one way, stops, pivots, bends and their out of harm's way. Roy just ran to the ropes & covered up.
But...I still say he's faster with punches than yours!!:D

I'll tell you exactly why people get angry.

It's because you don't give any credit to Roy for making Toney look ineffective.

Umm strength and power aren't the same thing. They can be inclusive, but not always. You'll never convince me Dempsey was stronger than Jack Johnson, but I'd say Dempsey had more power. We could go on and on, but strength and power aren't the same thing. Froch was NOT STRONGER than Collins. That's nonsense.

The Roy-bashing is getting out of hand. So far we’ve learned:

Roy Jones- not the defensive fighter Pep and Benitez were.

In the other thread it was:

Roy Jones- not as long-lived as Moore or Hopkins.

I could really use your opinion on Foreman next and how he maybe sort-of possibly punched harder than Jones because I couldn’t tell just by comparing film. What a spectacular wimp that guy was.

TBF I don’t get angry, I just laugh and shake my head and say is this guy for real? You really can’t watch boxing for a long time and miss the things he misses and evaluate that way unless you are intentionally trying to.

John Mugabi sits high on the list for me. Tua's notable imo.

Hector Camacho - ATG phenomenal talent, but mediocre-level achievement (when comparing with other ATGs, of course).

While true, h2h feelings don't always align with somebody resume. Sometimes your physical and mental prowess is easy to see, but if there aren't greats around to fight, you'll never have a great resume.

I guess it depends on your criteria? Do you rate upon biggest names on a fighters ledger or most and highest ranked opposition? I go by ranked opposition as names don’t always equate to quality depending upon where they are in their career

Edit: for example in the RJJ FMJ thread. Some rate FMJ over Canelo highly based on his name and who he is...you say he was green (most don’t agree)...I say what was he ranked. All about criteria

That should be the official way of ranking fighters

Jesus Christ! Froch must have had some unbelievable power if he could even KO himself when he hit his opponents with his punches.
