the following Gill vs Walsh Fowler (if he beats Fitzgerald) vs Cheeseman For the British titles. And Hughie has vacated so if Frank Warren is serious I’d assume this could mean Dubois vs Gorman for the British title. All good fights.
Would love to see Gill vs Walsh. Although the big fights you want to see from the BBBoC orders hardly ever happen. The November list, only 4 out of 8 took place. Hughie Fury (c) vs. Joe Joyce: British heavyweight title bout Daniel Dubois (c) vs. Nathan Gorman: English heavyweight title bout/British heavyweight title eliminator Arfan Iqbal vs. Wadi Camacho: British cruiserweight title eliminator Callum Johnson (c) vs. Joshua Buatsi: British light heavyweight title bout Ricky Summers vs. Andre Sterling: British light heavyweight title eliminator Mark Heffron vs. Liam Williams: Vacant British middleweight title bout Ryan Walsh (c) vs. Reece Bellotti: British featherweight title bout Andrew Selby (c) vs. Paddy Barnes: British flyweight title bout
No reason why these fights can't happen. Cheesemans coming off a loss though puts a question mark over that, plus Fowler v fitz is by no means a very for Fowler. Walsh v gill is a tasty fight. Would love to see that. I can see that happening. Walsh is now with Mtk, that's easy to make.
Gill vs Walsh I hope this gets made, Walsh is really difficult to look good against and has been a tough but to crack for awhile now but Gill definitely has the goods to pull this one off. Gill vs Lowe would be a really good fight also
Cheeseman may need an extended break, he took some heavy punishment in that last fight. Respect to the BBBoC though, if the promoters followed through on their orders we'd see a lot more great boxing here in the UK.
I don’t want to see Cheeseman back in the ring until he learns sound kind of defence- that last fight was horrible to see.
Agreed. Nothing wrong with his heart, he's brave as a lion, but there's a lot wrong with the strategy of walking straight into someone's punches for 12 rounds.
All the time Cheeseman is British Champion he has 2 choices defend against BBB of C mandatory or vacate . The opportunity to develop or add to skill set can be done in gym but ideally in the ring , it used to be called serving your apprenticeship. Ted has been brought along too quickly and it looks like he has found his level .I wouldn’t say it was impossible for him to beat Fowler or Fitz but either way you would say it shapes up to be a war.
A war probably isn’t what he needs right now and I said long before the Garcia fight that Fowler would destroy him. Maybe he should vacate and let Fowler/Fitzgerald fight it out for the title while he rebuilds quietly.
I reckon after so many wins the bbboc should be able to enforce fights (within reason). Missing out on some cracking fights there at great times of their careers. Same for the 4 sanctioning bodies
He struggled like hell against Byfield in those final few rounds. Byfield almost dropped him when countering off the ropes- Cheeseman remains simply too open defensively. He wont have a long career unless he tightens up his defence
Good fight. Fair play the BBBoC. They are ordering the fights we would like to see. It’s the fighters/promoters/trainers not giving us them. This content is protected
