OK, mark it down: The first round is a feeling out, Spence a little hesitant, Mikey energetic and making all sorts of beautiful boxing pivots and counters. He will win the first round more on activity than anything esle. The second round is more of the same but he ramps it up and lands a couple of stiff combos to the head, gets the crowd involved and has Spence looking a little flustered with his subtle experience. with 10-20 seconds to go in the round however, Spence lands his first solid blow, and Mikey's face changes a just a bit, but he takes it... and remembers. The third round, both guys open up but Mikey is sharper and lands more solid shots. He is still frustrating Spence, but you can just sense that he is starting to veer from slick boxing into running for his life. Mikey 3-0 In the 4th round, things start changing. Spence now realizes that Mikey can't hurt him and he starts digging the jab and both hands to the body. Mikey is on his bicycle. He lands a right hand that makes the crowd "ooh and aah", and sounds impressive but does nothing. At the end of the round he gets cornered and pounded on a bit. 3-1 5-6-7 are about the same, the small guy fighting for his life, the big guy just starting to enjoy it. Spence body punches are taking their toll, Mikey takes a standing 8 and is bruised and bleeding. 4-3 Spence In round 8 Mikey makes his last stand, he goes to war with Spence gets his attention ,but the end is near, he has been hit a bit now, and looks spent. 5-3 After the round, Mikey's brother decides he has had enough and pulls him out. Spence TKO-9.
Mikey KO9, you heard it here first, if you want my reasoning, go find the thread II put it on, I'm too lazy to.
I like rooting for the little guy, but I just don't see what Mikey will do with Spence. I recall the Easter fight, where when Easter jabbed, and let his hands go, he won the rounds. People can say Mikey figured him out, or whatever. Fact still remains that in rounds he pumped the jab, he won them. Spence has much more than a damn jab.
For the last few days I was really buying into the possibility that Mikey could pull it off (and I want him to) but then I had to slap myself silly back to reality. There’s divisions for a reason.
Don't rule Mikey out. I don't. Boxing and fighting are not always determined on paper. There may be a couple of knock downs , in both directions. Am going with Mikey for the upset.
if only someone on his team could have told him he just needed to throw the jab. no wonder robert been screaming for the rematch ever since... wait a second...
I respect u as a poster so I read it but damn that's a wall of text. Jk. I like the play by play good work. Yeah I agree Spence TKO9 is very, very likely.
I'm torn i want Garcia to tear Spence apart for the Kangaroo jack comment. Garcia is way more skilled, he KO'd Zaltan clean & ruined him forever & always. Garcia is no fluffer.
