Triple GGG most overated fighter of this era

Of course there are facts to refute. OP mentioned G never moving up.....Hagler never moved up and is regarded as an ATG and one of the best middle weights ever. Op mentioned G's weak resume, but several of the men he beat went on to get belts. Also G's middleweight reign is one of the best runs in boxing history. When historians look back and ask about champs reigning with an iron fist, G's name will be at the top of the list. OP is no doubt a hater or a Canelo sack sucker, either way, guys like him need to be dealt with.

 

He was overrated yet a whole bunch of boxers declined to fight him for years.

 

Lets see who didn't give GGG an opportunity.
-Sergio Martinez, he was old AF, had no knees, and on his way out with an opportunity to fight Miguel Cotto instead for BIG money. ( Sounds like GGG when he refused to fight Derevyenchenko)
-Miguel Cotto, he was much much smaller than GGG, he was also old, and had the opportunity to fight Canelo instead for BIG money. (Sounds like GGG when he refused to fight Charlo for the WBC)
-Felix Sturm, he was never that great of a champion, and was never that good of a boxer, got KTFO by Castillejo and lost to Daniel Geale.

Now its Triple G who is the one not giving anyone a chance.

 

You may be right about Hopkins fighting better op and Hagler of course is Hagler, but I just can't agree that G is bum. I see the skill and ability. After it's all said and done, G did what he was supposed to do against the level of op put in front of him. Personnaly, I don't see the middleweight greats just walking through G. G may not beat them all, but they all must bring their A game.

 

Oh yeah, his nuthugging fans have put me in a mood that made me a different person. One actually made a thread on how G would brutalize Hagler. When I pressed them on who has G beat to lead them to that opinion, I was call a racist. LOL

 

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Sturm didn't want to fight GGG and vacated his belt rather than fight him. Canelo also vacated his belt rather than fight GGG as well. When they did fight he was screwed by corrupt judges twice.

 

Boxers aren't obligated to move up and some of those who do just feast on the paper champs or even less at the higher weight class. It doesn't help that GGG doesn't have a big fan base because he isn't black or Mexican so there isn't a ton of money to be made fighting him.

Canelo vacated for business reasons, just like GGG allowed himself to be stripped for "business" reasons.

When they did fight GGG missed 70% of his punches and was only able to mostly land jabs. He didn't win because he either was to shy to slugg with Canelo or to slow to catch Canelo.

Eighty percent plus of "boxing experts" said GGG won the first fight and sixty or seventy percent said he won the second fight.
