I don't think that will happen as I don't think it'll be that one sided but if it were I wouldn't be surprised to see Mikey pick up an 'injury' rather than put up with a showboating Lomachenko.

 

i think it was after the 10th that robert asked mikey if he wanted to go back out, which indicated to me that the corner knew the fight was lost, cause not only was spence making him look bad, he was hurting him. without a moments hesitation, mikey repeated yes 3 times, that told me everything about whether mikey would fold.

 

Mikey was never in any trouble. The guy was picking off so many shots. Way too technically sound to get stopped unless he just ran into one.
That’s why I said people saying stoppage were fools.
When you have that kinda skill you can survive with anybody

 

With each round looking exactly the same, a complete shut out. It’s hilarious to see people defending a guy who fought to survive, threw one punch at a time, and still got beat up. Well done Mikey, you fought like a scared punching bag. Props to you. Obviously he’s a poor athlete (he was slow, had no footwork) and obviously he had no surprises (he couldn’t do anything and every round was the same). Do people even think before they type?

 

Mikey's biggest mistake was accepting (even worse, in fact — asking for it) this fight. That he would lose it, was obvious from the start. I have no idea what the hell he had been expecting from Errol. That Spence would lunge at him carelessly so Mikey would counter punch and stop him? Well, no luck. Spence boxed very carefully and disciplined all the fight. Several times he tried to finish Mikey, but even then Garcia was able to snap back, so Spence just continued boxing. For a guy fighting in a weight category which is alien to him and against a huge opponent, Mikey is a very good athlete.
And Mikey beats Loma.

 

You don’t know what a good athlete is, it’s irrelevant to weight class. Mikey is a slow plodder, a technical guy who fought safety first to survive. Loma beats Mikey worse than Spence.

 

Mikey does what Mikey does. He never was and never will be like Loma. At marathon running or swimming Loma will definitely beat Mikey's ass.
But in this fight (against Spence) athletically Garcia was better than I expected. If he takes his training for a fight with Loma as seriously as he took it for Spence, I believe Mikey will beat Loma.

 

What exactly was impressive about Mikey athletically in this fight? He had plodding footwork, no speed, didn’t do a thing other than cover up and try to survive.
If being fat, slow and predictable beats Lomachenko then yes Mikey beats Lomachenko.

 

Fortunately for Mikey, he won't be fighting Loma at welterweight.

 

Mikey looked slow as molasses. Loma all day.

 

I’d say it’s unfortunate for him, a fat out of shape Lomachenko would be the only way their speed is comparable. Mikey is slow and soft in every weight division.

 

Mikey was never known for speed. Timing, technique and power are his forte.
