Russian Heavyweight destroyer Arslanbek Makhmudov TKO's Avery Gibson in one round? The significance, Gibson has never been stopped in 20 fights and has been in there with Kean, Teslenko, Dinu, and Hunter.

Arslanbek Makhmudov who has 8 rounds boxed in 7 fights quickly hurts his man with any shot he lands. The right, the left, the hook or the uppercut. The amazing thing about it is this. He doesn't even need to land flush to hurt his man. This is a rare sledgehammer type of power.

IMO, he hits harder than Lewis or Wlad. I'm not saying Makhmudov has their placement of the punch or hand speed, but I am saying his raw impact of the blow is more significant than either Lewis or Wlad's

IMO, Arslanbek Makhmudov would make quick work of Wilder, and with a bit more seasoning, is a serious threat to Fury or Joshua. He's about two years away from his prime years as a professional. His quality of work in the very pro like world series of boxing tells me he's not so easy to outbox either and has a proven chin to take a punch

Well hell, if he would "make quick work" of the HVYT champ of the world. WTH does he need two more years for?

He surely has excellent power, size and killer instinct, but he is very slow and he gets hit. The right hand from Gibson landed flush on his chin, if it was Wilder's or Ajagba's right hand he will be in huge troubles.

He does look powerful and strong but he also very slow and hold his hands low, he will be in some fun fights but Wilder knock him dead and lose to most top guys as of now.

It was more of a graze off his cheek, and also the first power punch I’ve seen land on him in his pro career. Defense isn’t his forte, but he’s so overwhelming I don’t think most opponents will have time to throw back with anything meaningful. Taking the odd punch while moving up as a prospect is just part of the sport, especially when you’re in the middle of finishing a helpless opponent. Some of Joshua’s early opponents landed a right hand or two, and we all know Wilder’s history in that department. As for his speed, I disagree. He moves slowly, has a really wide stance and sort of stomps across the ring, but when he throws he’s fairly explosive and quick. Often a dramatic change in speed is way more effective than throwing everything really fast anyway.

I love this guy. Massive power, good speed and timing, likes to mix it up and an uppercut from hell. Russian beast from the East whose style will put bums on seats. A promoters dream. Future contender to keep an eye on.

He's the most powerful puncher in the division IMO, brutal overhand right, very heavy jab and short left hook, as Vykus said he also has good timing, and that uppercut is both exquisite and deadly and he doesn't telegraph it at all. He might not be the quickest but he's got decent speed for someone of his gargantuan dimensions and he's not as slow as many are making out him out to be, and he's also pretty athletic for his size too. That power of his something special, though.

I agree. I look forward to seeing him step up in opposition and seeing how he deals with it. Bring on Kingpin next I guess haha.

I can't remember a HW using the uppercut as efficiently as Makhmudov.

    This guy is special.
But he needs to work of defense.

First time I've seen him fight. That did impress me, but that wasn't exactly a great TKO1. To me it looked like Gibson was really just playing for some recovery time by going down. Still, probably would've been KO2.

Great uppercuts. Good punch variation. I'm excited about him.

However, I am getting extremely weary of these Canada-based Slavs. They keep disappointing me with a lack of ambition.
