Would Baer be able to KO Joshua?

AJ is far more skilled than Baer was, his jab is far beter and he uses it more, he throws more combo`s and has a better guard.

Baer had a chin good enough to take a weary AJs potshots, which AJ would be due to Baer's power. I think it's a toss up, if they trade then I'd favour Baer's power and chin as well as he'd be in optimal position for his Overhand right. But if they fight at range I favour AJs skills

    ?
Max certainly has the power to knock him out. Don't disqualify him because film footage is in black and white. He was the real McCoy.

Baer would fill up his shorts and quit sitting down.

Just a guess but I assume he is referring to the increasing influx of Baer/Carnera etc. threads that quickly devolve into the same modern vs classic narrative drivel that gets repeated on here ad nauseam.

For me I like AJ to beat Baer, likely on points over 12 but I could see AJ stopping him around 8 or so.

TBF I think Baer has a shot to stop AJ I just don’t find it the most likely scenario

I'd say he has more than a shot, I'd slightly favor him to win. Max would be a even bigger celebrity Champ today than he was back then

Perhaps you are correct...either way we will never know lol. I just know my pick has nothing to do with their respective eras. I think highly of Joshua skillwise, even if his or his teams reluctance to fight the best has me soured just a little. I can envision your scenario, it’s just not the one I pick

I think I will wait a couple of years before I come down too heavily in this one.

Good call,,that's where I am on Joshua. His best win was over a 40 plus year old ex-champion coming off a loss and a long layoff and he still got dropped like a sack of turnips off a delivery truck. As the Zen master says,,,,,we'll see

His guard wasn`t very pro like, so he got caught real easy.

Max would to change his look to be a star now, they don`t talk that old style anymore and his way of fighting would look odd to a modern generation.
