Who cares if he didn't knockout Mikey....does that make him any less of a good boxer?

I watch Boxing for the skill level, knockouts are a bonus. You can't stop everyone, Wilder-Stiverne 1 and Joshua-Parker went the distance.

Also give me the quote where it has been stated that Errol is supposedly the biggest puncher at 147? Errol stops you through accumulation.

I agree. I'd be gutted if I paid for that, although I wouldn't have done anyway as it always looked a mismatch.

My cynical side says that there was almost an unwritten agreement between the two that Mikey would lose but be allowed to go the distance and preserve his value in a lower weight class 'I dared to be great, but the reach and weight advantage was too much but hey I went the distance' whilst Spence used Mikey's drawing capacity to raise his status ahead of whatever negotiations are upcoming. The whole thing just felt contrived and fake and false and all that jazz that's been stinking up boxing for far too long.

Really? At 147 I'd pick Hearns to smash him into outer space. Same with Trinidad. Pacquiao in his prime would eat him alive too.

If Mikey just wants to survive he will.
I’ll take Spence over all those names listed 147-160
Spence is going up and clean up 54 easy. I imagine he will chase clownello for the payday but clownello don’t want that smoke.

Hearns lacked the intelligence to beat Spence, Trinidad was weak at 147, always getting dropped. That’s when he started with the cheato wraps with Whitaker. Spence is way too versatile for Trinidad. I think he beats him with the loaded wraps. Prime pac out of the 3 would have the best chance. I could see somebody arguing that who underrates Spence. I’d favor
Prime bhop, McCallum, or James Toney over Spence. Love to see the fights though.

Who said he was the biggest puncher? Spence has good power, but seems more a wear em down type of guy to me. Also, when going up stairs, Spence punched mostly glove. Mikey parried and caught punches on the gloves really well. When Spence would land, the punch was often over stretched, and not landing at a pristine point in the punch ark.

Oh if he said it then it must be so.

Alternatively, Spence banked a win and by going the distance Mikey had sufficient of an upside from the fight to keep him bankable in the future. Maybe Haymon got the KO here.

Thread title is KOCKDOWN not KNOCKOUT. /PSA

That said, its rather hilarious that Mikey wasn't in dire straits at any given time when he should have been running for his life in the later half of the fight. It's like a slow burn vs boom.
