Errol Spence Jr. vs Mikey Garcia - Did You Expect Anything Else?

Spence using his jab and retreating straight back is no surprise to anyone who has studied him. Most of the breakdowns I read even here shows that most people saw it. What people didnt see was that garcia would show up so bloated he was essentially cement footed. Ofcourse with cement feet he cant dash in or cut the angles to get passed spence's range, why he looked to walk into the inside. Garcia normally can glide on his feet, his 1-2 covers a hell of a distance and he loves to cut an angle(that would get rid of the foot infront of foot) to throw his right hand.PPeople are really impressed that spence outmaneuvered a fat boy, but I thought that's why they didnt want the fight because if you cant handle the weight, that's what you get, a slow, flatfooted fighter. Weird that people act like he beat garcia at his best when he outboxed essentially a punchingbag.

Should have listened to pacquiao, needed these legs.

Nope, I didn't think it would be all too competitive. Thought it would be a stoppage around the 9th-10th and I think it should have been.

Mikey's corner should have pulled him, he was taking ungodly amounts of punishment in those rounds and even the championship rounds. Probably shaved a year off his life.

I expected Spence to win,,,but I thought I would see a clash late . Honestly, it appeared like both men became content with Garcia losing a UD rather than Spence pushing a stoppage

 

Again I will say it again Spences power was a bit exposed that's the only take from this fight. How many times did he hit Mikey right in the kisser with those straight left hands and never appeared to even buzz Mikey. This is a guy i've seen stunned a few times in prior fights against featherweights.

 

And canelo didn't stop a much smaller Matthew Hatton at junior middleweight in which means what? Canelo power was always overrated? It exposed? Smh.

 

Bro Garcia was taking a beating. If Garcia wasn't hurt by those shots from Spence? Then Garcia wouldn't moving back to the ropes after he was pressing forward . His brother saw that Garcia was getting hurt alot by those shots and was inch of stopping the fight in which proves you don't know what you're talking about.

 

I expected Mikey to get KO'd. I expected the size to be too much for him. I expected him to have some success here and there but ultimately being overpowered and hurt. I believe that would have happened if he had opened up more, but he basically pulled a Kevin Johnson (not as bad) so he wasn't KO'd.

 

Yes sir thanks for the reply, Garcia was taking a beating the reason for the desire to stop the fight in the corner but again it was not from a single shot it was a accumulation of shots. Not sure if your a boxing guy are not but those are usually the fights were the other fighter gets hurt or killed. When a guy hits just hard enough not to stop you!

Your point is terrible. And you just kill your arguement cause you want to skip Khan and Smith? Khan is a perfect example because he couldn't stop a much smaller Hatton but did vs a smaller Khan. <<<<This easily proves just cause Spence couldn't stop a much smaller Garcia doesn't mean his punching power has been exposed especially when Spence is still in his prime and got more years to go in which he could win alot more fights by ko. You going by 1 fight which is stupid.
