To much boxing politics involved now sorry el chicano for rail roading your thread but... I’ve been thinking for a long time now uncle AL has his itv deal after the wbs he should sign josh Taylor. Al has done deals with cyclone promotion before look at Carl frampton. Josh is big ticket seller he would be massive star in Britain if he was with one of the 2 big promoters but he’s not and it would be perfect for haymon josh is world class fighter and I’m supremely confident he will win the wbs and down the line it could set up massive fights like Garcia Taylor and I would back Taylor to win that.
The issue with this is Garcia is going to want millions to fight at this point. Taylor although rated by diehards is unknown to casuals outside of Scotland. The fight would not do the numbers needed to generate both guys purses and from Mikeys perspective would be too much of a risk for his next fight. If he loses that his career is in trouble and his earning potential is much lower. Taylor’s also a big dude who will be going up to Spences weight soon and surely Mikey isn’t stupid enough to risk that again. You are on to something in that odd Taylor wants to become the next star he needs to have a promoter capable and Haymon needs UK stars if he wants to break the market. Will be interesting if Cyclone give up control. For me Mikeys next couple fights should be rebuild either on ESPN or DAZN who will pay him PPV money for fighter guys like Hooker and the only fight out there for him that will truly define his career is the loma fight. But he needs to make that in the next 2 years before age catches up with him.
Yeah i didn’t mean so much mikeys next fight and my point as a whole was that AL could do a lot worse than looking in to signing Taylor. Would have to be a fight that’s built up though to as you said generate the amount of money both fighters would be after.
