    * Results from Sat Night Southport Sharks.
    * Jacob Ng new IBF Youth Champ 135 lbs. Sounds like quite the fight. Ng down his opponent Glenn Enterina in the 1st and the Filipno repeated the favour in the 2nd rd dropping Ng. The Flamingo then came on strong in the 6 and the referee stopped the contest.
Ben Kelleher sucessfully defend his Aust CW Title.
Demsey Mckean win his HW fight via tko 1.28 min in the 2nd rd.
    * Bilal Akkawy confirmed in 7 weeks to fight on Canelo vs Jacobs undercard.
    * Sad indictment on Aust boxing that Andrew Maloney fight in Chile getting more media coverage.

    * Shane Cameron across the Tasman has according to his latest promotion quite the prospect.

The Australian mainstream sports media lost the plot with boxing a long time ago.

We had a guy in Vic Darchinyan winning legit world titles in America on premium cable networks over there & all the local media wanted to do was blow smoke up the backsides of Anthony Mundine & Danny Green. Ridiculous. Darchinyan wasn't just winning world titles, he was unifying them. The premium boxing networks in America wouldn't have touched him if he wasn't top shelf. Our mainstream sports media was too stupid to know any better though.

    Unfortunately nothing's changed.

Andrew Moloney is about go life & death in an eliminator for a world title fight in South America & I saw a popular sports column in the Sunday papers a couple of weeks back blowing smoke up the backside of Brock Jarvis. The tenor of the article was "trust me, this guy (Jarvis) is for real".

I don't want to be too negative b/c I do appreciate the mainstream sports journos giving boxing coverage but it is disappointing when they obviously haven't got a clue & the most deserving fighters are missing out on publicity they should be receiving.

Andrew Moloney's title eliminator is very important for the future of the sport in this country & should be receiving coverage.

    * A fund raiser is being held at the M Club Marouba Sun April 7 for Wally Carr as he continue's his battle with stomach cancer. Wally had over 100 fights and won Aust Titles from 154 to 175 lbs. Wally grandson is NSW flyer Josh Ado Carr .
    * April is a big month for Aust boxers with Dennis Hogan , Lucas Browne and TJ Doherty having big int fights . Let's hope Fox can at least show at least 2 of these fights.
    * This card is stacked with 4 Aust Champs and two Int Youth Champs taking on the world. This deserves to be on Fox.

In Australia the media really only gives AFL, cricket, rugby league and Rugby Union proper media coverage. They treat other world sports like they don't exist or that nobody cares which is laughable. Sports like swimming, athletics etc etc get a run in the media every 4 years when the Olympics is the flavour of the month. Thank god these days for the internet and paytv we can follow the sports around the world which we want to follow.

Also when the media do give boxing some attention it is alarming how uneducated they are. I don't expect them to be FAB 4 level of knowledge but they act like know nothing drunks at the pub.

" To become a legend you beat a legend " probably the worst commentary I've EVER listened to in my 50 years of listening and watching the sport Francis , THAT BUM really needs educating on the sweet science by the Fab Four & Co also The Sandman you're correct I know we clashed on Darchinyan a few years back but in retrospect he WAS indeed a beast .

Hi Josey. On a different note what is your thoughts on Ryan Giggs being Wales football manager ? My self personally I don't like it when you consider he dodged and dived to avoid playing a hell of a lot of internationals for Wales in his playing days keeping himself fresh/ready for Manchester United duty. Yes I know Alex Ferguson and United probably put plenty of pressure on him to avoid pointless international etc etc but he went along with it. He had a 20 yr career and only played about 60 internationals when he really should have played 100-150 internationals if he was truly committed to the cause. Then you take into account his disgraceful lack of morals/integrity then it's hard to see any grown adults taking the man seriously/respecting him. I personally don't see him being a successful manager at any level. What do you think mate ?

To tell the truth mate the guy ain't got any class( unlike his grandfather old Danny who I knew well ) . His ducking of international duties and the disloyalty shown to his brother have formed my opinion mate , which is a shame to tell the truth because when he was a youth he was very respectful lad .

I'm glad this fight is going to be widely available. That's Moloney's insurance policy if he wins it clear but doesn't get the decision.

He can basically say to the other sanctioning bodies "keep my world ranking high b/c I deserve it".

Let's hope he gets the win without having to go down that path though.

I think he's our best home-grown professional so it will be interesting to see how things play out.

Moloney takes the crowd and the judges out of it with a stunning KO. The Chilian did well to regain his feet but was in no condition to fight on.
