even more reason for arum to make it hard to work out a deal for a crawford fight, his piece of the pie keeps getting smaller.
Even if it hits 400K, it's still kind of a fail... Fox shoved this fight down everybody's throats. There were four fight camp videos along with numerous shorter ones. Then you had the second biggest Mexican fighter to go along with the selling points of prime undefeated fighters. With all the advertisements and investments made by Fox, I seriously expected 750K to 1 million.
Remember when posters on here tried to claim how America loves HW boxing meaning Wilder v Fury would do big numbers. Wilder got less buys than Erroll Spence fighting a LW.
I can't ever recall a PPV fight (including Pac-May) that had a gigantic machine like Fox throwing their full support behind it.
Well yes their is that. But maybe that took a fight which could do 200-250k buys up to nearer 400k. This does give Spence some leverage for a Pacquiao fight. He can demand 50/50. His now the man of the division as Crawford v Khan won't be hitting these numbers.
Solid numbers to be honest nothing to complain about at all when you consider most people heavily favoured Spence. Looks like Spence could go onto be a PPV draw which is a good thing for boxing in the US. Making the Pac fight would be a perfect next step for Spence, he's dipped his toe into the PPV market, beating a faded former PPV star is usually the next step, it's what Oscar did when he beat Chavez, it's what Pac and Mayweather did when they beat Oscar. He beats Pac on PPV and it's a success he could really grow into something big and he's got the opposition with Crawford and Thurman at welter to build even further interest afterwards. Could be exciting times at welter if they can make the fights that count.
