At one point Cotto was arguably the best WW in the world. Pac was moving up from LW and unbeaten, Floyd was retired. In fact, outside of Floyd and Pac, if he didn't get bricked by Margo, he would have been the best WW in the world.

If Spence was fighting in a prime Floyd and Pac era, I guess he would be Cotto level (initially) but he has to go on and prove that. I don't know, let's see him fight Canelo and see if he can do better than Cotto. Even though he is bigger than Cotto.

he just proved he was cotto level in boxing, everyone except me and a handful of other posters thought he was just a margarito level masher. add both of those b+ fighters together, which is what spence is a combination of, and you have a real deal A level fighter.

When he steps up 2 weight divisions (MW) and fights a killer like Canelo and arguably beat him, then he's Cotto level. When he wins 4 weight divisions, fighting pretty much tough opponents in each division then he's Cotto level.

Cotto has wins over 10+ champs or former champs and was the lineal or ring magazine MW champ of the world?

Spence has one win over a B level fighter in Brookes and how much does Garcia win actually count? Garcia is a decent 140lber, a good 135lber, god knows where he stands at WW. Would he be even a top 10 WW? Maybe, but just barely.

Stop it! No version a Margarito beats Spence! Way too one dimensional.

Even just at 147, I don’t see how you could pick Spence. Maybe a toss up due to Spence size. Both are vicious bodypunchers and I think cotto hits harder. Cotto is also an underrated boxer.

I don’t think Spence will be able to break cotto down, Margo did that with bricks and that was a brutal war.

Honestly I don’t know who’d win, at highest level cotto lost his fights fairly vs Floyd and Pac. But then again, Spence has and is never fighting anyone on Floyd and pac’s Level. Crawford is a level below those guys.

I once thought the same mate on account of his power but I don't think it translates up to 140,not sure he'd handle Postal even at 140.
