Why does lifting weights do nothing for a fighter?

They went a different route to the traditional modus operandi of pounds per inch.

They have a patented design known as a Controlled Compression Technology (CCT) which instead focuses more on the speed component along with power, from their website:

    "
by isolating the power generated at the point of impact, measuring in foot pounds weight/sec (which could equally be expressed as Horsepower or Kilowatts). Since the amplitude of the power is speed dependent (i.e. ‘the faster one hits it, the more power is generated’) we christened this metric ‘Speed Power’. This data aligns closely to the measurements garnered by traditional force plate punching machines.

In 2015, we isolated the (Kinetic) energy component generated during an impact, which we measured in the scale of Calories X 10. This is the moving mass or body shifting component and relates to how far into an object a strike penetrates; we christened this component ‘Compressive Energy’.

All strikes from a short sharp jab to a heavy knee strike contain these components in varying amounts - indeed they are the only two components in any strike.

With the ability to measure simultaneously both power and energy, we were then able to express every known strike in every known sport impact, which when combined form a compound unit of force we christened the franklin(f) after its inventor, Kevin Franklin.

    The final data compone
nt is to measure and display the reaction time from an audible and visual on screen trigger to the peak point of impact.

When pulled together these data components give you total control over the measurement of your performance so that you can monitor improvement over time and modify technique to drive incremental gains."

Tell that to Wilder who want's to bulk up, personally I can give you multiple examples of talented Pro fighters that bulked up over their career.

I also agree, there is a ceiling. I forget what the argument was.

It's impossible to calculate, but it can be measured because you just look at the end point... how hard you are hitting according to a reliable measurement device... how much more the heavy bag is moving...

With Mike Tyson, as he progressed throughout his training they kept switching his heavy bag as he developed more power... I can't remember if they told him or not, but that was a metric for his power output.

You mentioned some variable, but there are many more, like mind to muscle connection, reflexes, neural muscular response, muscle fiber recruitement (this is a big one).

There is this freakishly strong human I forget his name, but he weight like 165 or something and could do crazy things with his body, scientists who examined him discovered that he had full muscle fiber recruitment when he engaged in any physical activity, meaning he had more power from his body at his disposable compared to the average joe.

Animals are like this too... they use full ppower, full muscle recruitement when hunting.

There are many other more beneficial core and ab workouts that don’t involve lifting a heavy sledge hammer and swinging it repeatedly. Throwing the medicine ball messes with your accuracy, timing, and fluidity on your punches.
Contrary to what many personal trainers will tell you, they don’t know **** about what will help you in boxing. They base their workouts off science rather then actual ring experience.
For instance, I had a personal trainer get mad at me and want to throw blows because I told him cleans and jerks will inhibit my boxing performance.
99% of strength and conditioning coaches base their workouts off science rather then trial and error in the ring.
Boxing has been around for hundreds of years. They know what works and what does not.

Yeah absolutely, they are too many variables. Too many to practically catalogue, which is why we rely on "instinct" and anecdotal evidence.

Don't really wanna be in this debate lol, But show me a video of Bobby Chacon, Sugar Ray Robinson, Max Baer, Jeff Fenech, Salvador Sanchez, Danny "little Red Lopez", Rocky Garciano, Rocky Marciano, Joe Fraizer, Ali list goes on lifting weight for boxing to any real extinct. Now Tim Bradley does use modern sports science?? Punching power is given from GOD yes it can be improved but only to a point. You can never make a Pauli or Sergio Mora into a Julian Jackson no matter what you add to them.

Well some people take it too far when they start analysing Joshua's body fat level by watching him.on TV.

    Doesn't work that way

Yeah the non wright lifters fought each other.

Bring them here today against our modern fighters and tell me how they fare.

Bring all the 1850 year boxers to today generations... still human right? whats changed?

Muhammad Ali wouldn't last against todays heavy weight punch power.

He was getting tagged by 6 ft 2 187 pound Henry

I respectfully disagree in fact I believe that most modern fighters could not cut it in those era's at all. Of course none of the fighters i mentioned are from the 1800s lol

lol ok so Muhammad Ali beats Joshua yeah?

    Come on man...

I stopped believing Bruce Lee would beat everyone a long time ago. I grew up and got with the program called reality.

Joshua can box, has ample power, hand speed, accuracy and combinations, is 6 ft 6.5, 245 pounds of pure muscle, and then here we have Henry Cooper, 6 ft 2, 187 pounds, frail looking
