People still ignoring that it's not really a price rise, not for the long term subscriber anyway, the hardcore boxing fans. The money they pay for DAZN for a year has actually gone down. The only people the price has risen for is the people who just want to sign up for a month to see a particular event. I don't really see the big problem.

So you don’t think it’s alarming that people are cancelling their subscriptions after a month, probably because they don’t want to pay to see Tevin Farmer and a host of mismatches?

You don’t think it’s alarming that people are not maintaining their subscriptions when the boxing model for DAZN is based on a large subscribership?

I’m sure you were one of the people who justified the Wilder offer as good business because “they would get more subscribers”. Yeah I don’t think so.

To dismiss this as an “Eddie bashing thread” is no better than trolling. As I said earlier, Eddie’s DAZN launch was premised on the 9.99 guarantee and that’s been changed in less than one year. They are struggling big time.

So essentially they are charging PPV prices then (comparable to Sky Box Office prices). That’s a nice touch when Eddie promised that DAZN would bring an end to PPV in USA. As I said this is just the beginning. I look forward to bumping this when DAZN announces its first PPV.

No it’s not alarming really. If you want to watch Canelo Jacobs do you want to just spend $10 for the month to see it or do you subscribe yearly? You pay the $10 then next time you want to see an event you just sign up again and do the same. It’s just a way of ****ing the system. That’s exactly what I’d do and don’t deny you wouldn't do the same! Now I’d be more inclined to sign up for a year, would you?

Nope not at all and I genuinely mean that. $10 a month to see a great fight in Canelo v Jacobs and then a host of bum shows and mismatches after before the next big fight once in a blue moon? I’ll pass.

You’ve just answered why they’ve put it up to $20 for single month subscribers!!

Lol how can you call it PPV prices and then use the UK price against it. That's apples with oranges. Go back and put in the US PPV price.

It’s almost as if people have never heard of a product launching at a low price to hook people in before increasing the price to what it should always have been.

He's either genuinely thick and clueless as to how business works, or trolling. It could be either.

Bull**** aside, $99 for a year's subscription is great value and I wish it was over here in the UK as I'd happily pay that. The $19.99pm offer is there simply to push you towards the annual subscription - it's not clever or revolutionary, it's just what happens.

Look at it this way - you pay $99 for the year and you'll see a **** load of boxing, including Canelo v Jacobs, Canelo vs whoever next, AJ v Miller, AJ v whoever next, GGG, Andrade etc. Alternatively, you can pay $75 and see one US PPV.

The way Hearn grates on the usual suspects on here is very amusing, yet oddly weird, as it just clouds judgement.

    Couldnt make it up....

If DAZN entered the UK market tomorrow he would be the first subscriber. If not how could you call yourself a boxing fan.

All this shows to me is that unlike the cheerleaders claims, mainly on twitter that DAZN basically had unlimited funds to chuck around have been slapped down.

As I’ve said from day one, this business model is not sustainable- the board members will be looking at the humoungus outlays against subscription numbers and if they haven’t hit their projected target (which clearly they havent) than something will have to change.

To me, this shows they need actual working capital , hence them trying to get people to commit to the year rather than dip in and out as you can’t run a business like that - I don’t care how much money the bosses are worth, rich people don’t just pour money down the plug hole.

If I was Eddie, I would be looking to make sure that he doesn’t get to complacent with Sky.

I posted this on the main board. Companies who have money issues do not expand into new territory. (Brazil and Spain) They double down. They continue to expand and as John Skipper said a few weeks ago they global business allows them to enter the American market.
