Oh thanks, that's very generous of you. Canelo-Jacobs by itself would otherwise be a PPV, probably for $75, so it seems decent value to get a year's worth of boxing for just a bit more than that. Joshua Miller is an okay fight. More shows will be announced in the next 12 months.

You can make that argument no matter which boxing service you pay for. You are relying on promoters to make good fights (who are all just motivated by profit, Hearn just happens to be better at it).

Currently I don't pay for any boxing because I think every option in the UK is a rip off and I wouldn't watch enough football to justify paying for Sky/BT. Would I pay $100 for DAZN given the chance? Probably.

Here's a question; is the DAZN boxing content better than ESPN? Another question; which is cheaper annually?

If you want to know wether or not it's good value, compare it to its direct competitors. I personally don't know. Anyone any insight there?

It's basically half the price. $5 a month or $50 a year. However, they put big fights on PPV (e.g. Crawford v Khan, which isn't even that big). In terms of the overall quality and quantity of fights, it's probably too early to say and I don't really pay too much attention to what network a US fight is on when I watch it the next morning.

I absolutely guarantee that DAZN will end up putting on PPVs too.

I don't find it to be a bad deal .

I pay the 150 a year and I think it's good value, I watch a lot of spanish football and they have the rights to that in Canada plus seria a, then from next season they also have the premiership rights in Canada . Throw in the boxing for 150 a year and I have no complaints . My cable package that I mainly have for the sports is around 80 a month .I guess it depends on people's situation but like I said no complaints here with the cost .

I wouldn't dismiss that, in fairness. PPV always finds it's way back.

Having had a closer look at their schedule, it seems that a lot of the time you only get the undercard on ESPN+ and need regular ESPN to see the main event. https://espnmediazone.com/us/espn-live-and-same-day-tape-event-schedule-by-date/

From what I can make out:
Pulev-Dinu, undercard on ESPN+, main event on ESPN
    Gvozdyk-Ngumbu, all on ESPN
    Lomachenko-Crolla. all on ESPN+

    Confusing.

Very possibly, but as they haven't taken anyone's money for a PPV yet I won't slate them for it.

On a slightly different topic, I think to those who doubted it, its clear that in reality DAZN can in no way outbid Showtime for the potential AJ - Wilder fight.

The 2 main sports I watch at home are boxing and F1, both are on DAZN. If they released it in the UK, as long as it's cheaper than Sky Sports then I'm good with that.

    And herein lies your agenda.

People aren't chucking $100/year to Hearn, they're 'chucking' it to DAZN. And considering Canelo v Jacobs would have been around the $75 mark on PPV, you're effectively paying $25 for everything else - which includes AJ v Miller, SSR v Estrada, Andrade, GGG (very likely twice, granted one bum, but likely one decent opponent), Glowacki v Breidis, etc. You've also got the UK shows which are included for those not in the UK watching Sky Sports.

People are also going to be forking out $75 just for Crawford v Khan PPV.

$100 is just over €8 p/month - that is it.
Showtime is (I think) $11 p/month or $110 p/year for comparison (and then you have the PPVs on top). And what is that getting you in the coming months? Leo v Tabano, Shields v Hammer & Wilder vs AJ's leftovers.

The concept of aggressive pricing to enter the market before increasing pricing down the line seems alien to you, which is frankly odd. And you're now using that concept to 'guarantee' DAZN will increase annual subscription to $150 p/year by May 2020 and on top that offering up PPVs. No logic to it, just warped logic whilst frothing from the mouth. And if the calibre of fighters improves over time, $150 p/year wouldn't be OTT anyway.

It's really not worth getting your knickers in a twist.

    Have to agree with cutthroat.

Paying for any subscription service a year in advance when they launched less than a year ago is the pretty muglike behaviour and not something many people will do.

The figures so far demonstrate that hardly anyone has even signed up to the free-trials so it's beyond me why anyone thinks the a large portion of the market base will cough up $100 up front. Only a very niche hardcore boxing fanbase will do it for the boxing offering which has been pathetic compared to the names initially promised.
