"“We asked how much is Joshua getting, and we were never told the answer,” manager Shelly Finkel said. “What they offered sounded good, but it might not sound so good if the other guy is getting double or triple it, and we never knew what that number was.”"

"“When they pulled [the $15-million offer] away, they said, ‘Oh, what’s going to happen? You have no one.’ We had someone. We had [Tyson] Fury,” Finkel noted of the

Good work from Shelly. Completely reasonable question to ask. That's how you conduct a business negotiation.

You can't simultaneously claim that DAZN has no money, and then also claim that they would pay Anthony Joshua $80-120m per fight against Wilder.

Regardless, if Finkel was so concerned with the prospect of Joshua earning double or triple what Wilder earns, why not reply to the offer made by Eddie Hearn which offered a split of 60-40. If 40% isn't enough, surely if they want the fight, they could have responded to Hearn with a percentage above what Wilder actually wants.

That's not the point though is it? What is this, a competition?

I'd take 20 million for breazeale and 40 million per fight for AJ all day every day. Look at Tyson Fury when he fought Wilder. Should he have gotten more than Wilder for that fight? Absolutely. But was he happy with the 3,4 million he was getting? Yes. Why? Because it's 3/4 million at the end of the day. That's how Wilder should see it. 40 million is 40 million! You don't turn that down just because AJ is getting 41 million. Forget AJ.

While I agree they should of told them what Joshua was getting, it comes down to the fact Wilder and his team want 50%, that's a stipulation they've had from the start of serious negotiations and lets be 100% clear, Wilder does not deserve 50%, he isn't the draw Joshua is and he only has the one belt.

Right now Wilder is wanting it all his own way, he wants 50/50, he wants it in the US, he wants it on Showtime PPV, etc. Joshua's position has moved, he's now fighting in the US this deal was for a fight in the US, he's made numerous offers one better than the last. Lets be clear he's over paying Wilder and Wilder is still holding out for everything like he's the one holding all the aces when in reality he has 1 ace to Joshua's 3.

One fighter right now is compromising and one is putting road blocks up to the fight and not actively trying to make the fight while constantly changing his reasoning for not taking the fight. He wants to be a free agent, he's being loyal to his team and Showtime, he wants to maximise the money by having it on PPV, he's now again demanding an equal split. Another day and it's another excuse and still no offers made from his side.

Yeah "how much is the other guy getting" and deciding the day after to turn it down without coming back with a counter-offer or asking for more is how you conduct business. Business 101 with cutthroatfade.

His "negotiation" failed. That's not how you conduct a business negotiation. A successful negotiation would end in a deal. The stupidity of people on this forum is staggering.

Of course they didn't answer, because Joshua obviously is getting more due to his significantly higher marketvalue, just forgetting about privacy reasons altogether.
And if they responded by "he's getting $60M or $70M" or thereabout, knowing Wilder's previous standpoint there's a good possibility he would actually decline while getting massively overpaid already.
It seems like with Wilder's logic he would rather have $30M out of a $60M total purse (50/50) as $40M out of 1 $100M one (40/60)... because then Joshua gets more.

His negotiation "failed" yet Hearn confirmed in an IFL interview the next day that he will keep trying to make the Wilder fight and he still hopes to sign Wilder to DAZN. If Wilder beats Breazeale, the negotiation will have been a tremendous success because the offers will increase.

    Staggering stupidity indeed.
