You know what's better than saying you beat fighters easy? Beating them easy. In ten years nobody will be asking why we never got to see Fury v Schwartz. People might ask how he'd have got on against someone like Ortiz or Whyte. Answer is he'd probably have won. Perhaps we'll never know. But at least we'll always know he beat Joey Abell.
How has Fury’s win against Klitschko suddenly become “scraping by”? And he did beat Wilder...it was a robbery... He got knocked down by some relative no marks early in his career but through complacency rather than lack of ability/chin. He also punched himself in the face remember... We know his level now though... Still not impressed by this fight though, saps away all momentum...if he fights AJ or Wilder after then it’s forgivable but that doesn’t look likely so I’m bitterly disappointed.
Klitschko was the betting favourite to win the fight after the final bell. Go back and check out any threads about the fight. It was absolutely panned as a spectacle, barely anything happened and Tyson did better than people thought but it was a scrappy, dismal affair. Fair play he got the nod but let's not pretend it was Floyd Canelo or Calzaghe Lacy.
The biggest problem with this fight is that it will probably be an absolute bore fest when ESPN need Fury to be looking spectacular. If he pulls off a highlight reel KO then it’s great, I don’t think he has that in him though. Then again , not really Fury’s problem at the end of the day - it’s ESPN who will be losing out.
Takam was a sub when Pulev pulled out the others were top ten ranked contenders. How many has Wilder defended against? It's rather a mystery to me too!
Anyone that knows me will know I am not a fan of Joshua, however you can't place the blame on him for fighting Miller. If MR were under the impression Wilder vs Fury was next, and only Miller was available, how can they be blamed? The only person to blame for this whole debacle is Fury. He alone, decided to completely pull out/ turn his back out of a fight with Wilder, thereby and not for the first time screwing up the entire competitive spirit of the heavyweight division. Had Fury kept his word, we'd be seeing Wilder vs Fury with the winner likely facing Joshua and a clear idea who is the best. Instead we will see Wilder vs Breazelle, Joshua vs Miller and Fury vs Schwarz. And there are people in here trying to justify Fury's decisions and attempting to spin the blame back on Joshua and Wilder when these last few months they were in good faith that Fury wanted to be part of the rivalry The amount of passes Fury gets on here is unbelievable. He screwed up the division before when going AWOL in the rematch with Wlad, when he relinquished his belts so he could go on a drug binge and attempt to escape public humiliation surrounding his failed tests and now he's signed a deal with a network so he can fight scrubs. And of course we're meant to shed tears for him because Fury is the victim. Apparently the whole world conspired against fury and strapped him to a chair and force fed him until he ballooned up to 300lbs while showing drugs up his nose. No different to what happened to Homer Simpson apparently. Poor Fury, he never stood a chance really. This content is protected I hope Fury fans enjoy paying to watch him taunt and put his hands behind his back against hopeless vagrants in a glorified sparring fight. I can't wait to hear Fury to dedicate his victory over Schwarz to the mentally ill and homeless people around the world. I for one will not be bothering to watch any more of his circus shows. I feel bad enough knowing I use to support Fury before he disgraced himself once again.
I think Fury will lose out though. If this does terrible business, and there is no reason to think it won't, Fury suffers.
Has Fury ever looked good against fighters who he is a big favourite against? His best diplays have been when he has had to use his boxing skills, due to his opponent posing a genuine threat. A difficult guy for ESPN to market without him fighting the top few in the division, as he isn't going to be scoring highlight reel KOs against the lesser opponents.
This content is protected Not looking to good this deal is it. 3 months ago Wilder and Fury fans were in jubilation how AJ was being frozen out.
So basically it’s not happening. It contradicts Wilder’s idea, he’s said multiple times that he won’t sign a multi fight deal.
