Fury vs Schwarz

Miller has beaten Wach, Adamek, Duhaupas and Washington. A murderer's row? Not by any stretch of the imagination. But certainly better than who Schwarz has beaten.

There's a hint towards that in that all of these independent rankings seem to have Miller top ten and Schwarz outside the top forty.

And did you really just use the term 'styles make fights' when the fight is an unknown guy making about five step ups against a light hitting, defensive guy who lands five shots a round? This has all the makings of a frankly dire spectacle.

We have 3 heavyweight fights we didn’t want but there’s two v decent fringe contenders and one v a guy who is a padded Euro.Watch the Gashi fight anyone who doesn’t recognise Schwarz.

 

This is dragging a bit, takam got knocked the **** out by chisora who fury played with years ago. Povetkin is as old as yoda. Klitcho was inactive and coming off a loss and older then povetkin. Brazeal is a bum who can take a punch. Miller's a unproven 30 stone bum who was talking about joining the nfl a couple of months ago. Parker went life and death with le skirt. You can slag any opponent off if you try hard enough.

 

Trouble is you end up looking massively biased and like some demented Fury fanboy if you do that.

I mean, if all those guys are bums and so on, what the hell do you say about Abell, Schwarz, Hammer, Cunningham, Pianeta and Seferi?!

 

You can only name 4 popular journey men as Miller's good opponents. This is going on now Tony. Miller is ****. Schwartz is ****. Buster Douglas was a **** opponent for Mike Tyson, still knocked him out though. City and Liverpool don't play every week. Mismatches happen.

 

I say what my points been the whole time, they're all in underwhelming fights and I don't blame one more than the other. It's the nature of the sport

 

Imagine if football was like boxing. You're not forced to take on your opponents; you choose them.

By current reckoning the sixth best team in the league are Chelsea, the tenth are Leicester, and the 42nd, (to give Schwarz his highest known ranking) are Rotherham United.

Are you saying that Man City will probably beat all of them, therefore they're all essentially the same? Or is boxing somehow astonishingly different and rankings don't actually mean that the guy ranked sixth or tenth is any significantly better than a guy barely in the top fifty?

But beating fringe contenders and so on is still better than just beating rank nobodies?

I mean, take any sport. Tennis. You do get that Nishikori and Del Potro, whilst not Nadal and Federer, are still better than Radu Albot and Jeremy Chardy? You do know that Ronnie O'Sullivan will probably beat John Higgins but it might be more competitive than if he played Robert Milkins?

I don't understand this apparent desperation to not accept there are average fights and bad fights, and everything outside the top three against anyone in it is somehow all the same. It's just not.

No the wbo are hardly credible. But fighting to boxrec rankings doesn't do much for fighters either does it. We're not going to agree here are we. You want to make this a argument of only fury is in a bad fight. Tony is on matchroom payroll acting like he's chuffed AJ who refused to fight wilder in the US because he owes it to the British fans to fight in the UK is now fighting miller in the US. You can't knock AJ for not fighting Wilder. But fury who's just had a very hard fight with wilder is the worse thing that ever happened to boxing because he's fighting an opponent who would be one of wilders best opponents. What about wilder and the 38 bums he's fought. No mention of that here is there.

Wilder will have fought Braezeale,Fury and Ortiz in his last 3 fights.Let’s get real here,we have 3 viable world no 1’s and they need to be fighting contenders at the very least.
