GGG should definitely dump Abel Sanchez

After GGG vs Alvarez 1, Abel Sanchez should have trained GGG accordingly and given him the right tactics to defeat Alvarez in their second bout. However, we all saw that GGG ate most of Alvarez's power shots, and responded with his weak jabs. Although GGG landed more, Alvarez hurt GGG more. Just compare the faces of two after the match, you will understand what I mean.

GGG moved forward to Alvarez with a weak defense and as a result Alvarez could land his best shots and hurt GGG bad. Alvarez on the other hand kept his guard and saved himself from GGG's power shot.

What was GGG thinking? In GGG vs Alvarez 1, we know that Alvarez have heavy hand, the guy can hit. Sanchez didn't tell GGG how to beat Alvarez. He should have fought like Mayweather Jr to defeat Alvarez, with a strong defense. Instead, he walked on GGG with an open defense.

After the match, Sanchez made stupid comments and praised Alvarez. Instead of praising your opponent, you should have studied your lesson and train your fighter better. Is it because both Sanchez and Alvarez are Mexicans? I don't want to think of the possibility that Sanchez didn't train GGG well on purpose, so that another Mexican will win the belts.

GGG doesn't have much time left. He should get rid of Sanchez and hire the top trainer to help him win his belts back.

I don't think so. It worked for him for years, just that Canelo was better than anyone else he fought. It is the opposition. It is funny how when a fighter fights someone better, the fight is at a slower pace and much different.

I think at age 36 going 37 it’s to late for GGG to change trainers. He can’t get any better.

I credit Abel Sanchez next to HBO for making Golovkin into a star.

Sanchez did a much better job promoting GGG than Loeffler.

Golovkin didn't follow the game plan. Abel kept pleading with GGG to follow the game plan but he didn't. Canelo was just too skilled and on point.

He can find a trainer who can teach him how to not be a face first fighter.

Many older fighters change style when they age. Of course you need a food ring IQ to do that. Maybe GGG can't learn new tricks.

In 24 rounds of boxing, only one guy was visibly hurt. That was Canelo in round 10 of the second fight. We can only go by fighters reactions and a couple of bruises don't tell the whole story if anything.

He may have been buzzed for about 3-5 sec max!

The problem with a lot of Golovkin fans and fans in general is that you guys don't use the official scoring rules to score Golovkin's fights.

So GGG caught Canelo with one good punch in one round that buzzed Canelo slightly for 3 seconds. There are still 35 min 57 secs that need to be scored using the four scoring criterias.

That's what I was talking about, there was only one moment where one fighter was hurt. I was referring to the OP who claimed GGG was more hurt because of some bruises..
We can only judge a fighters reaction when claiming someone got hurt. Some fighters get knocked out by jabs, some are unfazed by monster shots. If there is no way to tell who did more damage we have to go by the number of punches landed.

The reason why he should dump Sanchez is because he is overtraining his fighters, especially that Golovkin is 37 and he has problems with his knees.

There were rumours in Kazakhstan that he had this huge lay off because he had knee surgery

In round 10 I saw Canelo get caught by a clean short one two that put him on defense for about 5 secs.

But throughout the fight I saw Golovkin wince in pain, huff and puff, and hesitant to attack the body and hesitant to commit to most of his punches.

Based on that and the clean hard punches Canelo was landing to the head and body, I would say he was hurting Golovkin. When had you ever seen GGG so timid. He clearly felt the pain and was hurting. And when the fight was over his face looked battered and could not stay for the post fight interview. He probably felt dizzy or was in too much pain.

The entire night Golovkin was very much unlike himself and I'm sure Canelo's Mexican style had everything to do with that.

Nothing about what you just listed was clear, but highly subjective (hint: that's why the majority of people did not see it... ;))
And to boot you have to make up some stories to rationalize what you wanted to see so bad, that you made yourself see. That's called a delusion my friend.

With your vast knowledge explain the scoring in both fights? Canelo spent massive amounts of time doing nothing. You are a joke! In your boxing world the Jab count for nothing! As you have never been in a gym, guess which punch a trainer teaches you first? The Jab! It is used to control your opponent. Everything starts with the Jab.

Abel has completely neglected the fundamentals that made Golovkin a great amateur. When you face a dangerous opponent you have to box and that's what golovkin did. But throughout his career with Abel he had completely neglected his original boxing style leading to ring rust when he had to box.

What happens when you spend time purely to train a "Mexican" pressure fighting style and neglecting your original style, only to have to drop this "Mexican" style and purely box the opponent?

Golovkin should take notes from Kovalev.
