It's not something I've ever really considered to be honest.

I've not heard any other people suggesting it either.

Dariusz wouldn't leave Germany, and Roy didn't think he'd get fair treatment there.

A poster being called racist for saying that Floyd is greater than Joe... That must be trolling, surely? Or just good ol' bat **** craziness, but probably trolling.

I'm almost exclusively in Classic, but it is kind of fun to come here to General in a way. Just in the last week I've seen several posters here trying to claim that Wilder refusing the DAZN deal was good business sense and not a duck, and now it's racist to say that Calzaghe is a level below Mayweather in ATG ratings... Madness but also refreshing, in a way.

Don`t you count Joe`s super middle WBO reign alongside his time as a light heavy champ?

i count the fights on their stand alone value (eg robin reid was a decent opponent) and the wbo reign from 2005 when that body was recognised ie I count the ones that are counted, not the ones that arent.

i never alter what is established, or else in 2030 we are going to be including WBF and WBU titlsts who have 20 defences, as the new record holders.

The fact that Floyd won titles in more divisions?

Calzaghe's not in the same league as Floyd technically.

Eubank was 31 years old and held a record of 45-2 at the time he fought Calzaghe. Eubank moved up to CW after that fight and nearly beat the champion at that weight class. Saying he was old is unfair to Joe.

Bika and Reid are similar. I favor Bika because he was champ at SMW and challenged Stevenson for the LHW title. He also gave Ward and Calzaghe hell, both ATG's. Fair play though, I have no problem someone rating Reid higher.

he wasnt old, you are quite right, noone sould say he was old.

What we should say are the actual facts - he was career end, on a losing streak both sides, shorn of title success and disinterested and from 2 divisions at short notice.

You try to be witty but you’re about as funny as a root canal. And dumber than a rock.

46-0 *****. And no history of woman beating, nasty rants towards Asian athletes or ‘Surpassing’ ATG’s records against 0-0-0 MMA Fighters. DEAL WITH IT

    Super Joe > floyd

How the heck is this thread still even up for debate? Floyd could have retired 5 tears sooner and STILL have a better resume...

I'm not going to get into the debate on who is better Mayweather or Calzaghe but a few things are wrong:

Lacy being overrated is revisionist, Calzaghe beat him badly after he was supposedly going to get KTFO by Lacy. Lacy was ruined after that fight.

All the guys you named on Floyd's resume were either past it (Oscar, Cotto, Pac), too small (JMM, who was cheated on the scales), or green (Canelo). I'm not saying Calzaghe's resume is great but Mayweather doesn't have one prime win in his top 5; I'd say their resumes are comparable.

Lastly, Kessler is better than both Corrales and Castillo. I'll give Corrales credit for beating Freitas and Casamayor but that is no better than Froch. Both guys lost to fighters way below the caliber that Kessler did (Froch, Ward, and Calzaghe).
