    I know I know!

I guess I just don't see being a weight bully as a total one way street of advantages. Can be for the younger folks. But eventually, this will hinder him in the long run, even possibly shorten Hurd's career.

Don't care. If he makes weight he makes weight. Impressive how he can drop that much and still have such stamina in the ring.

I really, really miss HBO. For the most part they always made fighters step on the scale for unofficial weights before fights. NOBODY does that anymore.

Insane how much these black fighters hate and feel threatened by Lomachenko. He's doesn't rank him in the P4P?! I think it just kills them to see the slickest boxer in the game far and away....is a white man.

Really, really, really looking forward to Hurd v. Charlo. Then he moves up for the other one.

Weight bullying isn't even a thing, look how many weight divisions we have?

I find it funny when obviously ridiculously big guys like GGG get accused of being "small" for their weight classes.

    It's like wtf??

I respect Hurd. I like him but that is total BS when he says he doesn't think Loma is in the top 5. Total BS.

And, come on, man, this is your livelihood and you can't think of who the top fighters are????

why judge a fighters character by the genetic advantages he brings to the ring? i dont take points from floyd for having longer arms than 99.9% of the guys his size. i dont take points from inoue for hitting harder than 99.9% of fighters his size, so im not going to deduct points from hurd for being able to gain and lose weight better than 99.9% of guys his size. he made weight, he gets the same recognition.

If the sport had same-day weigh-ins like it ought to, he probably wouldn't be undefeated. :deal:

To this day I have not heard any information on what Hurd weighs on fight night i.e. the only relevant info

‘Walking around weight’ is utterly meaningless as that version of the man is (a) carrying excess weight (b) not actually getting in the ring

False equivalency. Most people don't have a problem with glove mass. The overwhelming majority of fans view day-before weigh-ins as being a legacy error from boxing's archaic past, much as most citizens believe about the POTUS electoral college system.

Right?!? The thing with boxers is, sometimes fans tend to assume all these guys are students of the sport. Some clearly are, but many are just fighters who know how to fight. Being a boxer doesn't automatically make one Manny Steward.

Same day weigh in won't change anything, Hurd will still recover better than anyone

We should just abandon weight classes and then weight bullying wouldn't be an issue

They don't have weight classes in Tennis, Cricket, Football, Basketball, Rugby etc so why boxing???

The best needs to fight the best, weight divisions are just a barrier!!!

my point is, rules are what they are, change the rules and you change the players because we all have different strengths and weaknesses. make title fights 15 rds again and see how many titles change hands. the man is using everything he can within the rules to be successful, thats something we expect from all fighters.
